Oh yeah I haven't dipped much into Stoicism, but I've heard a lot of great things. I'm planning on reading Aurelius's meditations sometime soon. I agree thought I love Camus, the stranger is one of my all time favourite books.

Yeah I've wrestled with the "deontology vs. consequentialism" debate for a while, but I always see something like Utilitarianism (from Mill's perspective) as having a slippery slope, and not valuing the individual life enough. I do see your concern though, which is why I would never say I'm purely a Kantian, I would identify with the neo-Kantian movement more than anything, as I find it more practical and palatable.

It depends on what topic we are talking about, for ethics or aesthetics Kant and Aristotle are top for me. Overall Husserl is probably my favourite, even though he isn't apart of the existentialist tradition.

How about you?

Nice too meet you too. Oh yes I'm a serious philosophy nerd. Anime and philosophy are my two passions.

If you don't notice any significant problems with a low level of scrutiny, and notice a significant amount of positive shots and animation with a low level of scrutiny.

Consistent high quality.

It is fair to expect art from 2006 to hold up today. Akira was in 1988 and that definitely holds up today. Future Boy Conan was in the 70s and that holds up today very well. It's even better than most high budget shows coming out now. Shows like FMA 2003 still look good. Gurren Lagann was 2007 and still looks good.
Death Note managed its resources better than most shows do and created something that looks good enough. Emphasis on "enough". It's not outstanding, but it's not hideous like Hellsing TV or Hand Shakers.

Mudan broke it down nicely.

Death Note's art isn't that good. It's not bad, especially for early digital 2006, but there are quite a few QUALITY moments.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
