The second season of my teen romantic comedy is Something quite different from the first. While the first season was mostly comedy without romance, the second season is a Genuine reversal with very little comedy and lots of romance (drama).
Something I Genuinely did not like in the first season were the ways in which Hachiman 'solved' problems and the consequences of these solutions. This is Something that continues in the second season and leads to very strained relationships between the characters which made the anime Genuinely painful to watch at times and left little room for the comedy of the first season. So you were
...
basically just watching characters awkwardly interact for most of the season.
Eventually the characters do get past part of this awkwardness but they replace it with being extremely unclear and vague. Hachiman will claim to be looking for "Something Genuine" but it is never really clear what this is. Near the end of the season lots of conversations become progressively unclear. A character will say Something vague and another will agree with implicit understanding. There's quite a few of these moments and they're Genuinely impossible to understand even though I paid a lot of attention during the entire anime and replayed the scenes multiple times so I'm not even sure if they're meant to be understood at all.
So basically instead of the comedy of the first season we now have drama, awkwardness and unclearness.
The characters are mostly the same as in the first season with a few new ones and basically all the previous characters return in this season. Lots of characters are given way more personality in the drama of this second season and the dynamic is Something that can become tricky to follow at times but it is also kind of neat to see all the connections. The three main characters suffer from awkwardness and a terminal inability to properly voice their feelings so I'm Genuinely not sure whether I thought I knew them better after the first season or the second one. Basically all the side characters get some kind of development and turn into more interesting characters. The only exception to this is Yukino's sister who seems to have absolute authority for some reason.
The animation, voice acting and music were the same or similar as the first season.
Overall the second season isn't a bad anime but the switch from comedy to drama is Something very drastic and it means you might not enjoy this season even if you liked the first one. For me it was at times Genuinely stressful to watch because of the awkwardness and lack of clearness.
Consider watching this second season if you don't mind the shift away from comedy, like the characters and don't care about understanding what "Something Genuine" is supposed to mean.

This OVA is basically just an extra episode of the first season and it has has the same characters, animation, voice acting and music.
It doesn't seem like this OVA adds anything to the story so you don't have to watch it if you only care about the main storyline. Instead it seems this was made to have girl's wear wedding dresses (that they conveniently had lying around at school).
The story is about the teacher coming to the service club because she needs help writing something for a marriage event. She can't do this herself since she isn't married so she asks high school
...
students instead. This somehow leads to a 'wife contest' with lots of comedy.
Since it's basically just another episode, you'll like this if you enjoyed the first season, you won't like this if you didn't like the first season.

Welcome to My Teen Romantic Comedy where there's finally a main cast consisting solely of characters with alliterative names featuring: Hachiman Hikigaya, Yukino Yukinoshita and Yui Yuigahama.
These three main characters make up the romantic part of this romantic comedy though admittedly nothing really happens on that front during this first season. The side characters are very unrealistic for comedic reasons. There's a little sister who rates her own quotes, a teacher who resorts to physical violence, world's most masculine tennis player, an extreme case of eighth-grader syndrome and an obsessive yaoi enthousiast. These characters are quite silly but they do make the anime fun to
...
watch. What I enjoyed most however was the dialogue between Hachiman and Yukino, they're both deranged in their own ways and watching them interact is quite fun.
The story is quite simple and is about Hachiman being forced by his teacher to join the service club, a club that only Yukino a member of. This is a volunteer club where they help people with any problems they have and they're quickly joined by Yui after they help her. The entire anime just revolves around activities in this club without a specific goal or direction. A negative part of the story is that Hachiman, because of his 'eccentric' personality tends to solve problems in ways that are painful to watch.
The animation is good enough. It isn't the most beautiful and there's quite a few scenes where characters look weird because they're far away but it's fine since you're reading the subtitles anyway. The voice acting is good and managed to convey nuance where conversations needed it.
Overall this is a fun anime to watch. While there isn't a lot of romance, there is a lot of comedy and it is just fun to see how Hachiman and Yukino interact.

Cautious hero is a combination of a reasonable story, hit or miss humour and fanservice.
The story is a bit of a parody of the isekai genre because it's set in a realm where gods/goddesses summon Japanese guys to save fantasy worlds on a nigh-industrial scale. One of these goddesses ends up summoning an overly cautious hero to save a particularly scary world which is what the anime is about. The world is pretty generic and so is most of the story with humour clearly being the priority. Only near the end of the anime does the story pick up a bit and become okay.
...
There is quite a lot of fanservice throughout the anime with a part about a nymphomaniac goddess being quite unpleasant to watch.
The main characters are okay. They're mainly just vehicles for the comedy but they do gain some personality at the end of the anime. Basically all the side characters exist solely for comedic reasons.
The animation doesn't looks amazing but it feels appropriate for an isekai parody anime.
You may not want to watch this if you dislike fanservice and the story is not worth sitting through the comedy for sol I'd recommend watching the first few episodes to see if you like the comedy, if you don't then it doesn't get much better and you should probably drop it.

Spirited away is a movie where you have no clue what is going to happen in the best possible way.
At first glance its story seems relatively simple; a girl's parents get turned into pigs and she gets trapped in the spirit realm along with them and has to save them. However the simplicity of this premise is overshadowed by the mystery and many unknowns of the spirit world. While the goals may be clear, the way to achieve them most certainly is not. Add to this some minor subplots and the end result is a movie where you don't know what's going to happen,
...
how anything works or what effect character's actions will have. This was a very refreshing feeling compared to more predictable stories and made this movie exciting to watch.
The animation and music greatly contributed to the uncertainty and mystery in the spirit world. The animation was great and detailed with surreal structures and creatures. The music was great, there was a lot of different ost and they created a great atmosphere in many scenes.
The characters were good. They felt realistic and no one was cartoonishly good or evil. There were no silly decisions made just to drive the story forward but that happened naturally. The attitudes of the spirits towards humans were also interesting.
Overall this is a great movie with a hard predict story that I would recommend to anyone.

Kiki's delivery service seems like a pretty good coming of age movie.
There isn't much of a story, instead the movie progresses by following Kiki and her experiences as she starts her own delivery service and attempts to become independent. Along the way she faces hardships, both big and small, that she has to overcome. This did mean that I personally did not like the movie because I find it painful watching things go wrong again and again.
Kiki is a pretty good character for this story but some of her decisions were a bit puzzling. The side characters were good and I liked how expressively
...
animated they were. The animation is quite good in general which is impressive considering the movie was released in 1989. The voice acting and music were both good too.
Overall this can be a good story if you like the coming of age genre and don't mind a character driven story where lots of things go wrong.

In the second season of mashle the story mostly strays away from being a Harry Potter parody and starts doing its own thing. Whether this is a good or bad thing is up to you.
The main storyline in the anime is quite interesting still. The world as a whole resists Mash's existence and he has to contend with all kinds of different people, ranging from powerful to peasant, demanding his execution. The discussions that take place around whether Mash should be allowed to live are often genuinely interesting but it is also cringe when his friends stand up for him because of how little
...
of a personality they have. The fights are also still neat but they are not frequent enough, don't feature mash enough and suffer from characters narrating every single action that happened, often saying the same thing in multiple different ways, which drags out fights and makes them boring. In lots of fights Mash isn't even present all that much because of the excessive narration and fights ending quickly after he appears.
The excessive narration makes it feel like the anime treats you like a recently lobotomised person, unable to understand the most simple concepts who needs to be handheld throughout the entire fight. They then further insult your intelligence by listing off some incorrect animal trivia that can be proven wrong using a quick google search and repeat the words "noblesse oblige" around 50 times like a toddler that just learned a new word. The most outlandish claim in the anime was that Mash was only able to dodge an attack at the speed of sound because he was touching a wall and sound travels through solids faster than it does through air. This would be a smart way to explain him dodging the attack were it not for the fact that Mash could literally see his opponent and since light travels around 50000x as fast as sound does through a solid, this entire explanation is nothing short of bullshit. Basically, don't think too deeply about anything that this anime says if you do watch it.
The characters are still extremely one-dimensional and the humor isn't good. A guy saying the word bamboo over and over is what I'd expect from a tv-show made for six year olds. The one-dimensional characters are also problematic when there's supposed to be emotional speeches about why Mash should be allowed to live and instead it's just the character whose only trait is being in love with Mash saying something cringy.
The animation was good and the anime looked nice. The opening a banger and the music in the anime was good too.
Overall this anime can be fun. If you enjoyed the previous season and liked the characters then you can enjoy this season too. Personally however the humor just wasn't funny to me and the story and sparse fights that did involve mash couldn't make up for the useless narration and cringe or incorrect moments.

Mashle is Harry Potter if Harry was a buff guy with a liberal interpretation of physics and biology.
It is clear that the anime got a lot of its inspiration from Harry Potter but it feels more like a parody than a copy. The main character is discriminated against because he doesn't have a scar on his face, goes to a magic school, gets sorted into a dorm by the sorting unicorn and ends up playing a ball game on brooms that was no doubt inspired by Quidditch. While this may sound like ripoff, the anime doesn't take all concepts seriously and seems more like
...
a comedic abridged version than a copy. For example, the sorting unicorn has trouble assigning the main character to the correct dorm, not because he has a complex personality and fits in multiple different ones but simply because the main character is only thinking about cream puffs.
The anime isn't just a copy though, it also has unique elements and systems with a somewhat interesting world concept that is connected to the magic school in a unique way. Though there is quite a lot of fighting, this seems like a comedy anime most of the time.
The characters seem to only really exist for comedic reasons. Sure, some have a small backstory but you're not getting more than that. The main character isn't much different but doesn't make horrible decisions and is fun to watch overall.
The animation and voice acting were good. The anime makes nice use of sound with the background music sometimes completely cutting out when there's a non-sequitur in the conversation that's taking place.
Overall this isn't an amazing anime but it's a pretty nice comedy that is easy to watch. If you've watched/read Harry Potter before then this is a neat abridged version too in some ways.

The most noticeable difference between the second season of goblin slayer and the season and movie that came before it is the animation quality. There's way less cgi and even goblin slayer himself is animated all of the time.
The story takes place after the events in the movie. Knowledge of the events that happen in the movie is crucial in understanding some events in this season. This season's story consists of three separate self-contained arcs and involves slaying goblins for wildly different people. It's not the best story but it's better than the movie at least. Personally I was also annoyed with factual inaccuracies
...
in the story such as acting as if alcohol warms you up while in actuality it cools you down faster.
The characters are basically all the same as the previous season with only temporary side-characters being introduced. This season however seems to play up the harem element of the story more which I don't think makes a lot of sense because goblin slayer still has the social skills of a sentient rock. High elf archer is still cute though so that makes up for it.
The voice acting was good and really suits the different characters. The music was okay. As noted earlier the animation was way better than in the previous season/movie with only some far-away shots looking kind of weird. Overview shots of the inns/pubs were especially well done with lots of characters moving about and conversations taking place at the same time giving you a nice feel for the atmosphere.
Overall this seems like an acceptable second season that you should bother watching if you liked the first season/movie. If you disliked those then this won't be much better.

Goblin's Crown is a 25 minute recap followed by an hour long movie. The movie can best be compared to a small goblin slayer arc that spans multiple normal episodes like when they went to water village in season 1.
The movie starts with a recap that you can skip if you just watched the first season. After that the story continues around where the first season left off and the goblins slayer squad sets out to rescue a noble girl that accepted a quest to slay goblins that hasn't been heard from in a while. It's a pretty mediocre story that feels slightly rushed
...
and lacks explanation at some points. The eventual solution to dealing with the goblins does make sense and was clearly set up in hindsight but not knowing what the characters were going to do for 40 minutes wasn't enjoyable.
The characters are the same as the party in the first season with the addition of the noble girl. The supporting character's attitude towards goblin slayer does seem to change though and it feels like they act as if he's way more capable than he actually is which is a suboptimal development.
The animation wasn't great with lots of cgi and some really dark scenes that required me to sit at a weird angle compared to the screen just to make out the details properly. The voice acting was good enough, the high elf archer sounds cute and the music was okay.
Overall this wasn't the best story and may not be worth watching. If you liked the first season a lot then this may be acceptable but if you didn't enjoy the first season very much then it is likely that you'll enjoy this even less.
