I usually hate people who write reviews after one or two episodes into a show, but WOW.
*spoilers*
This show had my back tingling the entire time! And the main character, Takashi, behaved how I was hoping he'd behave. Near the end of the first episode Takashi's love interest, Rei, freaks out on him because he had to kill his best friend, and her boyfriend, because he turned into a zombie. She tries to blame him for what happened, and accused him of hating Hisashi because he dated her.
Takashi then feels like a bother, and says he'll just head out of their protected area and kill as

This show is a strange one for sure.
It's your typical fighting anime with way to many fillers and pointless information with unneeded cliff hangers that last for episodes on end (ie: Goku took roughly 70 episodes until he went SS1, but in the remake where they took out the excess clips it only took him 20 something episodes to go SS1) The story starts off in the human world: Okay story Once they get to the Spirit World: Picks up and I enjoyed it much, much more Fights with the captains: insanely interesting story Leave, then crap fillers with bounts: Boring and not too interesting Hueco Mundo: picks up again. ...

Ending was disappointing, and the fan service was way to overwhelming. Really watching this made me appreciate the newer animes that are did much better with what they have.
This plot line was unique, and could have been incredibly entertaining if they developed the story more instead of all useless scenes, such as in EVERY SINGLE episode except the last two, maybe, they had her change into a vampire with the same exact changing scene and narration as if it was the first episode. It got incredibly monotonous. Other than that I enjoyed alright, giving it a 7.

I pretty much love this show, and I can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes as they release. I really hope 13 episodes isn't the end of them all and possibly a season two+ will come. The first episode definitely had a catch. As soon as the protagonist gains consciousness he meets a girl with a sniper in hand. She offers him two serious choices, which was either join her or die. Story: The idea was pretty original, IMO, as I haven't seen many anime that have a story like this, except The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, of course, but even then they are light years ... |
