This show is very good at doing what it wants to do. And that's to be an over the top awesome show, and not a masterpiece of a story.
The animation and choreography are amazing. The color palette and bright colors are just the best. It is something that could rival the likes of Demon Slayer and maybe even Jujutsu Kaisen. The over the top action is really good and I just love this aspect of the show so much. The fights are what make this show any good at all. The rule of cool is heavily applied here. And god is everything about the animation

This part is very weird in my opinion.
So there's some bits of this I really like. The ending, the overall story, and the art style and animation. The ending is just awesome but it makes sense since it's kind of the ending for jojo's, but not really. Still a very good ending. I liked Pucci. Not the best jojo villain, but up there. His whole storyline was very cool and probably the best bit of this part. But there was also some bits I didn't like so much. Jolyne isn't the greatest jojo, overall the mc crew isn't the best, and it lacks a ...

My favorite part of Jojos. Great story and great characters.
The story is really great. Interesting and all. I wouldn't say this is the main part of what makes this part so great. I think what makes the story better than other Jojo's parts is it takes away what I dislike overall about Jojo's. It actually feels like it has a story running through the entire Part and remembers that story in most if not every episode. But the characters are what makes this part so awesome. Each of them getting there time to shine. Whether it's in fights or emotional moments, everyone gets some time ...

Starting with the first half
God is it just ok. The slice of life aspect to a battle anime is just so mid. There is little to no plot between every episode as well. I would go as far to say bad if it weren't for the characters. They aren't the best in the entire show, but they're good and add flavor to what would otherwise be a very bland experience. And then we get to the other half God is it just so awesome. Splitting this review into two parts for obvious reasons.
Part 1 - Phantom Blood (5/10) I mean, it's not great. There's nothing much I really like about it besides Hamon and Will. It's my least favorite part with my least favorite Jojo. Jonathon is boring and has little to no character especially comparing him to the other Jojos. Plot's nothing special. It's just so simple. Gurren Laggan is a very good show. I think there's two main factors to what makes it so great.
1. Simon. This show is very much about Simon. You get to see his emotional and awesome journey through all of this. Simon himself isn't a ground breaking protagonist, but it's what he goes through and how he handles it that makes him so awesome. Seeing how he can overcome everything and in the end, getting over what he would have cried about before. It's the perfect kind of character development and the backbone of the plot for this show. 2.
