Berserk is the most thrilling, powerful and most heart wrenching thing I have ever watched. It is no doubt a complete tragedy, but throughout the entire adventure the audience experiences all ups and downs along with the characters, leaving them with a sufficient variety of emotions to keep them satisfied.
Berserk is not for the weak of heart, as it deals with heavy content, language and subject matter, having said that, Berserk is also an anime that forces the audience to develop their own opinions and beliefs about the certain ideals and principals each character perceives their life with. It

covers philosophy, psychology and social politics along with how the actions of each individual can effect the fate of the world.
Berserk is set in a medieval European type of setting and all aspects suit its atmosphere perfectly. I am not a huge fan of the soundtrack but I cant complain because every song and effect of ambience fits the scene very well with a few exceptions here and there. The dialogue is fantastic because it is floury and contributes to character development and not purely just plot like most other anime series do. The animation is obviously going to be dependant on the individual`s preference, but I thought the animation was absolutely stunning, as the characters were drawn so realistically and the dry and dark colours matched the atmosphere of the plot. As mentioned before the character development is amazing. I can honestly say that Berserk is the one anime I have been able to empathize with the characters the most because it felt like I was actually there with them :) lol!
There were also many themes and concepts of the anime which were expanded on just the right amount without taking up the entire plot or creating any filler, which I commend highly, as that is a difficult thing to execute as wonderfully as Berserk did.
Berserk is a tragedy about betrayal and the loss of friendship. It is not a light hearted joy ride and definitely not for little kids.
