There wasn't much of a story, technically. The episodes could probably, for the most part, be watched separately and one could still understand the plot. But, it /is/ supposed to be like American cartoons in the way the episodes are laid out and how it's drawn. The art is quirky and easily recognized. Even people who haven't watched it can recognize the art style. The art style matches well with the series sense of humor and story telling. The characters are all unique and all designed perfectly.I enjoyed every aspect of the show. It was very funny and the characters ever enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend.

The story is very well written and progresses at a pretty much perfect pace...after the first few episodes. The story doesn't really progress until after Madoka meets Mami. The first few episodes are important to the story but, it goes painfully slow for those. The art is very cute but, the anatomy seems to be more off than usual in some places (as anime proportions are often not realistic. But, at some parts? Bodies aren't even capable of moving that way). I really enjoyed this anime. The friendships between the girls were really touching and the story was great. Who doesn't love a magical girl anime?

The story is pretty...realistic I guess you could say in the sense that parents don't typically take well to their daughters having anime/manga/games/etc. with an R-18 rating (I know from personal experience). Kyousuke and Kirino's relationship, however, isn't that realistic. The writers did a very good job at character development. In the manga though, Kirino was a little bit more "dere" and a little less "tsun" than she was in the anime (she hits and yells at Kyousuke more in the anime). The art is very cute! I actually preferred the art in the anime over the art in the manga. The animation is smooth ...
