Clannad: After Story has emotionally sensitized me.
I am a bitter, hardened person in real life, and a recent tragedy has not done anything to improve that. I have usually gone to anime as an escape, for a reason to laugh and fantasize about how I wish things were.
Then along came Clannad, and Clannad: After Story. Gradually, what began as a typical slice of life series turned into one that is compelling, inspiring, endearing, and willing to tell a story that reminds me of my own life. It is all too real at times.
