This anime was recommended to me a bunch of times and I was excited to finally have the chance to watch it. Well this was a disappointment!
The "handymen" and "private detectives" theme is way too popular nowadays and I feel like they had lost their cause a little bit. The plot feels like being all over the place, not actually showing the cases the characters have been assigned into, unsatisfying answers and always fighting the same opponent without seeing some progress. Also many things are predictable, there are no surprises whatsoever.
Many points are problematic such as the imply of incest, sexual assault and
...
especially how the traumatic aftereffects of an assault are treated by everyone else.
The characters are shallow and indifferent and the character development is not evident.
The art is great and the characters are quite attractive, this is what actually saves it for me. Had this been an anime of early 2000s I wouldn't have lasted till the end of this season
What really impressed me in the anime is the connection of Dazai's character with the book of Osamu Dazai, "No Longer Human", a masterpiece of Japanese literature. It might actually seem problematic how the character is suicidal and how it's portrayed in the series but it's also actually a key point to the main character's life of No longer Human.
