Great concept, great cinematography. Characters are... good I guess. Aside from Violet, everyone else who is at least permanent on the show is pretty much delivered as a 2D supporting character. We can't relate with them or when we do, we don't get as much exposure of them to actually care about them. Despite that, this anthropological approach to the concept allows us to ride along with Violet's journey to experience how to live after having lived a life as a tool of war for most of her life. We get to see an arc in her character which would usually have taken more episodes ... to do so if we had given more background to other characters. It is overall good and does pull on my heartstrings in almost every episode.

Now, for my score of 7, this is only due to my personal taste. The anime is not as loyal to the light novel as I would have liked. Anyone, like me, who has read the light novel, will surely share the feeling of disappointment when they don't introduce some characters or have completely left off some stories.
