The story, despite its short runtime of 11 episodes, is pure quality through and through. It beautifully tells a unique story accompanied by beautiful music, fantastic characters, and incredible animation, especially considering how this anime is from 2014.

Through my 1000+ hours of anime, I have never seen one with this story or any similar. I view the story as two people who were brought up in a horrendous and unjust environment, wishing to dramatically and explosively destroy their tormented past.

The music is a massive help in the anime. It accompanies well with the overall tone and story of the anime, while also making ... me shed a tear or two here and there.

The characters are incredible. The way there is always something different and disconnecting about Twelve and Nine fits perfectly with their background. Lisa is relatable and functions as high contrast as a clumsy human instead of the calculated and calm Twelve and Nine.

The animation is just hands-down great. It holds up well six years later, and the cold and sad colors fit perfectly.

I love it.

Til;dr: It's not as good as season 1, but it's still really good, don't listen to all the overly negative reviews.

People are overreacting as I've never fucking seen, yeah sure it wasn't as good as the first season, but calling this one of the worst anime of 2019 is idiotic. I have not read the manga, but that is not important in this instance, reviewing it based on its manga counterpart is not doing the anime its justice, nor is it speaking to the possible viewer at all.

It seems as if manga readers have stormed the review-section, subjectively reviewing it based off of ... their own disappointment in the adaptation, not as the anime it is in its own right.

The parallel development of Garou as we view Saitama's continuous search for purpose and joy is genius in my opinion, although it might be slow at times. We follow Garou's own views, ambitions, passion, and character similar to Saitama in season 1. Through battles.

Yeah sure, we might not have gotten an epic finale or as much action as there was in season 1, but keep in mind that there is still a lot of stories and fights yet to be explored. Have patience in our anime gods, and for Christ's sake relax.
