The Seven Deadly Sins is quite honestly the worst well-known shounen I've ever seen.
The Shounen Info Dumping aside, the fights and world building often seem like they are trying to insult the viewers intelligence. There is always a secrete move/power that the viewer doesn't know about, so there is no reason for the fight to even exist since you know exactly how every fight is going to end. Characters are so invincible to the point where it's actually hilarious, this doesn't only apply to the main characters but almost everyone. There are no stakes. Log Horizon has one of the best world building in Isekai and anime in general.
It makes you a part of Elder Tale with easy to follow politics and intriguing combat strategies. While the worldbuilding is incredible, the show is being held back by its mediocre and pale-looking animation, it's quite honestly boring to even look at. Additionally, the dialog, while mostly appropriate, is just too much at times especially in combat scenarios. The show was emotional, the characters were interesting, and it had a great conclusion.
With that being said, it just feels like a single season anime. With that I mean it's just too small scaled and the ending doesn't feel "real". You can compare it to when you finish watching a stand-alone movie, in the end it just seems like you watched a piece of entertainment which completely pulls you out of its world. You can avoid this effect as seen in other single season shows like magica madoka, which was also very emotional while not feeling like 12 episodes which leads to a more intriguing ... |
