The MC ruins the show.
Every other character explodes with personality, the concept is fun, and the art direction is reminiscent of older anime. This anime was a sure fire win in all categories. And then you see more of the MC. He's like someone took a master level simp with no self respect or self awareness and tried to make Tokyo Revengers. This show truly had the potential to be one of the top anime of the season.
I'm tempted to drop this one due to the unlikable nature of the person whose story we are supposed to be following.

as bad if he wasn't so unaware of everyone around him. It's like he's in his own world most of the time. The main character is only concerned with losing his virginity. Which is a funny plot and can be used correctly, as seen with shows like Chainsaw Man, but here it falls completely flat. The MC is just that unlikable in every aspect that even his comedic bits make you wish someone was just beating him senseless.
I highly recommend skipping this one. If you need to watch a show where a ghostly looking entity helps someone fight, then watch JoJo.
Watching this will only make you upset that you wasted so much time with utter trash.

I rate this highly because I very much enjoy Arifureta in general.
HOWEVER
This very poorly adapts the source material. Multiple fights, conversations, and several other things were cut out. This feels more like a rushed adaptation of the manga rather than the LN. The story, however, is still somewhat intact even if you don't get every detail. It could have been worse and definitely could have been better.

that arc its like they're racing to the finish of the season. Everything becomes much less bad ass fun and more trying to keep up with all the info they rapidly throw at you.
Overall I wish more was done. I wish they would of given more detail. But as far as anime adaptations go, I had a lot of fun and got some decent use out of my Funimation Sub.

First let me say, i didn't dislike the show. It was really fun to binge. It was like Parasytes story had a love child with Kill la Kill's art, which sounds cool, but leaves problems that I noticed right from the start.
Story - 7
The story is good, but very familiar. Like I mentioned above, it's very close to Parasyte in its "outbreak" plot line. The story itself did enough to differentiate itself, but the ending it presents doesn't leave you wanting more. It leaves you with a "well, that was neat I guess." much potential should leave you with. It felt rushed in the end.
Art - 9
The art looks very flat, but it works in that it stylizes itself in critical moments to give you a sense of wonder. I wasn't too sure on it at first, but it slowly started to grow on me as the episodes went by. Easily one of the best things about this show was the style of the art.
Sound - 8
The sound fit very well, I don't really have any qualms with it. A couple of times it felt a little off but overall it was amazing.
Character - 8
Characters were well fleshed out. Some where focused on more than even the main character. They hinted at so many things, but a lot of these character plot lines just stopped at dead ends. This isn't really just a character problem, but story as well.
Enjoyment - 7
I would of enjoyed this more if it kept an actual plot towards the end. So much was left unanswered that I was more upset when I saw the ending than I was happy. It wasn't deep, and there were no logical reasons to do what they did. It was just 10 episodes of hoping for something bad ass.
Overall - 8
They focused too much on boobs, plot lines were dropped, and it all around felt rushed and unfinished. They could of had several seasons of this. I'm kinda happy with just 10 episodes. The whole show is just one big hype train into nothingness. Doesn't mean you won't actually enjoy it, but you won't exactly find it anime of the year either.

I really enjoy this series. It's different from the anime in a lot of ways. However, here we are met with a very sped up ending and a lot of loose ends. It's very nice, but if you want a complete story ending with everything explained, you will definitely have to read the Light Novels. Some main differences come early on from other adaptations, and it slowly diverges itself. I have a ton of good things to say about this manga. But there are its bad point too. There are very cliche moments in later chapters that

take up what could of helped the ending. It goes from somewhat relevant story to funny side adventure very quickly. This isn't bad, but doesn't help a limited chapter series get all of its story out. Overall, I give this series an 8. If we can get a side story eventually that tells the rest, I would easily raise this to a 10.

This was literally the biggest waste of time I've ever spent. Spoiler-free, here's my thoughts.
Story - 5 (At best)
When starting out, you realize the character is already in a terrible situation. As with most revenge types, you're interested in how she's going to...well...get revenge. It starts out with minor characters who didn't really do too much getting in trouble. As you progress to the real antagonists, however, it slowly becomes more of a forgive fest than revenge. Which in the case of some characters, don't need to be forgiven but should of been the actual targets of revenge. It's like

the author decided to completely change their characters in the middle of a chapter to be good guys. Too many "surprise twists" and hidden villains to actually progress with our main characters. The end was obviously rushed. The author probably realized they messed up any character development they did and wanted it to end.
Art - 7 (Actually isn't that bad)
The art was really clean and well done. It was stylized perfectly for a dark setting like a revenge story. The artist knew how to get expressions across really well.
Character - 5 (Read story section for my issue)
As I've mentioned above, the characters are all over the place that you end up hating them all. It becomes a chore to actually try and care about these characters. When you have characters go from rapist to secret protector, you know the author was just pulling out whatever he could to try and finish the story.
Enjoyment - 5 (I wanted it to end early)
I enjoyed it at first because she was truly planning on revenge. But after the first victim realized that the sword on the cover was just for show. It picks up the pace later on, but at that point most characters end up changing their personalities completely. Too much changes to actually enjoy it.
Overall - 5
What else can I say. If you're very bored and have bounds of money to just spend, then sure buy this and go on a mediocre journey. You can do better though. It isn't even revenge most of the book, as stated earlier. With all that said, I regret this book.

I'm very stuck on how I should rate this. It wouldn't be fair to say it was bad, because it was actually quite enjoyable. The problem, however, is it got axed. So the last chapter is full of cliff hangers and quick fix em ups to try and give you satisfaction, when it only angers you.
I liked this story because of the interactions with side characters. Since our mc doesn't have anything to focus on, the story is truly dependent on everyone around our hero. It allows for some very cool situations.
What I disliked, and why I gave this only

a 7, is the ending chapters. While avoiding spoilers, you won't feel satisfied. You'll be wondering what's going to happen next, and realize that there is no more. I don't know if it was actually cancelled on its own or forced to, but there was so much more that could of been explored.
Overall, it's a fun read but don't expect to get a finished story. You will have to find the ln if you want more.
