OMG THIS IS THE BEST ANIME EVAAA! Okay, but seriously I personaly really love this anime. There are a lot of factors and biases for the reason it is my favorite anime I have watched. For the next 4 paragraphs I give summaries of a few arcs (the one's I watched). After that I will detail why I gave certain scores.
To give a brief summary, it is about a teenager, Ichigo Kurosaki, who has the ability to see the dead and then becomes a Soul Reaper, the god-like figures who help the dead pass on to the after-life and also stop soul-eating

monsters called Hollows. The story focuses on his many struggles being a Soul Reaper with an over-arching plot. The first arc focuses on Ichigo learning how to be a Soul Reaper and then go after his friend and ex-Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki, from execution.
The third arc is where the main focus of the plot where Arrancars, transformed Hollows that are immensely more powerful, are introduced. That is all the information I wish to give because explaining anymore would give spoilers. I guess the fifth arc you could say is a continuation of the third.
The second arc is called a filler arc and revolves around a race called the Bount who control powerful dolls to do their bidding. The problem with filler arcs is that they appear in the middle of an important arc and was most likely a decision to allow the manga get ahead of the anime. My suggestion is to skip the second arc, finish what I call "Saving Rukia" (you'll understand what I mean), then go back to the second arc. I enjoyed the Bount arc even if I watched in the order of release date, and people have mixed feelings about all the arcs. If you really do not like any of the filler, skip it. Simple as that because the filler arcs have absolutely nothing to do with the main story (the Bount arc introduces three side characters, but they really have no purpose after the Bount arc).
The only other filler arc I enjoyed was the Zanpakto Rebellion. I eventually skipped it after I understood what was going to happen and plan on finishing it eventually, but I was too excited for the main plot by that point. If nothing else, the Zanpakto Rebellion shows what several different characters' Zanpakto look like in the state that only their Soul Reapers can see.
Art: I really like the style of Bleach. Not too dark or bright, every character seems well designed, the environments usually fit the mood. This category seems more opinionated, so to each his own.
Sound: Only complaint is that some characters get annoying to listen to (sometimes intentional I believe) and that some of the background music I wish was louder. I listen to the Bleach Soundtracks quite often and there are a few tracks I listen to almost everyday.
Character: Ichigo Kurosaki is kind of dull outside of fighting as the story goes on, but thankfully this anime is action packed. There are too many side characters honestly because with a show like Bleach or Fairy Tail where everyone has unique powers its hard to explain or show them all. The characters they did elaborate on I really enjoyed (even a couple of the aforementioned annoying sounding ones).
Enjoyment: Personally this is a factor that is the greatest in determining score. Even if something has the most amazing plot and the best characters, if I don't enjoy it I won't really like it. Bleach is not for everyone. It is action-packed and I would say the target audience is 13+ Teenage Boys compared to something like Kanon (2006) which I would say is more for 16+ Teens.
As a final note, I know this is very lengthy and all, but I hope you do find it helpful. I don't expect everyone that comes across this to read it, but if you did some advice would be appreciated.
