I watched Diabolik Lovers as a change to the anime I usually watch and 'cause the synopsis for it looked kinda interesting. Therefore I started off being quite keen to watch it...I mean what girl wouldn't be keen on watching an anime where the heroine is stuck in a mansion inhabited by six handsome boys who are all brothers and kinda fighting over her - did I mention they are also vampires ? (bonus! *laugh, just jokes* ^_^)
But I have to say that now having finished Diabolik Lovers I am kinda disappointed with its lack of character development and its rather flat, two-dimensional

story line... total let down D:
STORY : I found Diabolik Lovers to have an interesting gothic-horror vibed story line with the mystery surrounding Yui and her being caught up in this whole affair of coming to stay at the mansion (this was probably one of the main reasons I kept on watching this anime and didn't give up after episode 1 ...apart from the cute brothers that is *giggle*) but by the end of the anime this fell short of my expectations where all the mystery surrounding Yui and the other characters being resolved to a point that the story line fell flat, becoming 2-dimensional- which is a pity since I feel that if one elaborated more on the story line and created a greater mystery out of Yui's past as well as perhaps tweaked some resolutions to her mysterious past - this anime could have become interesting instead of just ending up being a tasteless anime about a girl constantly getting her blood sucked by vampires and falling victim to them which after a while becomes slightly boring if not irritating... But overall if you can trudge through this and bear with this diluted story line you can find moments in Diabolik lovers that make you want to find out more about the characters and their pasts. Overall I would rate the story line between a 4/10 and 3/10 making it not as good to call it decent but not as bad to call it poor (soo somewhere inbetween but you should judge for yourself?!)
ART : I watched a really good quality download of this anime so I was really pleased with the graphics of this anime and the drawings. I found the outdoor scenes of the rose gardens and the night sky with the moon to be quite delicate and well drawn. Additionally I enjoyed the style the characters are drawn in and their interesting, colourful eyes (although at times these eyes seemed to not hold enough depth and emotion in them ..kinda mirroring the anime itself I guess which is ironic...) But overall the Diabolik Lover's art was not a disappointed but fairly done and probably one of the main things I would watch this anime for it since the story line is kak (>_
