To those who appreciated the intense symbolism and quirky, intresting characters with more depth then meets the eye, look no further. While Pengiundrum's story is alot different than Evangelion, there's no denying the similarities to be found here. Honestly, as I watched Penguindrum I couldn't help but feel like it is a sillier, if not MORE intense, version of Eva. Minus the mechs.... And Shinji

Noragami Aragoto

I cant help but think that Noragami and its seconf season are at its core more polished versions of Blue Exorcist. Noragami deals with gods, while Ao No Exorcist is about demons. While Ao No Exorcist is pretty much what youd expect in a shounen like series, Noragami is something more. I cant promise the other way around that if you like Noragami you'll like Blue Exorcist, but I am saying it might definetly be worth a try.

Gosick

Gosick is like a darker, more mysterious version of Spice and Wolf in several aspects. Similar settings, similar character interactions between the leads. Similar attention and personalities of the main female leads. Gosick is definetly more intense, but if you like one you are certain to like the other.

Charlotte is made by the same people who gave us Angel Beats! Both use similar vivid animation styles and just give off the same general feel you'll get while watching the other. It's hard to explain, but lets say despite the rather different stories, Charlotte is more or less a carbon copy of Angel Beats! with a new plot and new characters.

Mindbending excitement.....there is also, surprisingly huge similarities in the plot. I feel like both of them are those "expect nothing, get EVERYTHING" kind of animes. Both anime start off with simple, easy to understand plots, that don't bore you before they get REALLLY good. Trust me, to those who watched Stein's;Gate and think it is as original and one of a kind as it get's....well it is. But Madoka sure make's a good counter. Personally, I perfered Madoka to Stein's;Gate (barely, but there both FANTASTIC IN EVERYWAY POSSIBLE), but if you've watched and enjoyed one of them you will love the other as well!
