I have to say I was sceptical going in to Mushoku Tensei, as recently there have been loads of Isekai anime and I haven't really enjoyed most of them. However, I believe Mushoku Tensei is the best recent Isekai. It has a perfect balance of comedy, story, action and even fan-service.

Story - the story wasn't your normal run of mill Isekai harem in a new world. The main character was transported to this new world by Truck-Kun, like most other Isekai MCs. The MC is then born into the new world, which is something I haven't seen in an Isekai yet. I thought that ... it was quite a cool concept. The MC has natural talent for magic, and is given an instructor by his parents. There are a few sexual references with most of the supporting female characters but it doesn't damage the flow of the story. The MC eventually ends up tutoring a spoiled daughter of a noble family. She is cold towards him but ends up warming to him over the course of their training. Near the end a mana cataclysm occurs, whilst they were practicing magic. It transport the two of them to another unknown continent. With the help of a native guide they set to make their way back to their continent, to their families.
Art - I never really know what to say about art, but in Mushoku Tensei It was very good. The style was unique and pleasing to the eye.
Characters - All of the characters are well utilised and fleshed out properly. They develop well, and the MC's development doesn't feel too rushed over the course of the anime.
Overall - I'd give it an 8/10. A great watch for something to lighten your mood!
