- Both have a MC that has a thing with technology - Both have a MC that is in charge of something in the internet (they're important) - Occultic;Nine is more modern - Lain is set in the 20th century - Mysterious supernatural stuff happens - Sci-fi, sci-fi and sci-fi - Confusing plot at first, but everything begins to fit like pieces in a puzzle - The ominous and mysterious feel/mood given are similar - Both quite psychological (Lain is more though)
