I would have rated this series higher, but due to it's abrupt ending due to cancellation I have to knock it down a notch. It's still very worth the read though.
Story: Nicely balanced with aspects of shounen and shoujo mixed nicely throughout. There's some romance, some comedy, some mystery, some drama, action, adventure... A little bit of many different things. It was a very interesting concept that the two had to hold hands or else Elraine would die, and it was developing really nicely! Komi Naoshi does it again--deep, comical, and thought-provoking all in one VERY prettily drawn package. Story: Unique and interesting--Earth creating an ultimate being? and that being's destiny is to save the Earth from disaster? AND THAT BEING IS AN OTHERWISE FAIRLY AVERAGE TEENAGE BOY?! Quite interesting if I do say so myself. It had the potential to be drawn out a few more chapters, maybe 5 at most, but still a nice read. The ending is quite funny, too. Art: What can I say? Personant is a thought-provoking piece about right and wrong with a futuristic twist. I really liked this work by Komi Naoshi (I like all his work really, but anyway).. this story's main highlight is the idea of 'which is better? a flawed yet free world, or peaceful but phony world?' And it's art. The art is really refreshing, as is the way the ideas in it are shown. I would still reccomend it for ages 10 or 11 and up. It has some themes you need to ... |
