I would have rated this series higher, but due to it's abrupt ending due to cancellation I have to knock it down a notch. It's still very worth the read though.

Story: Nicely balanced with aspects of shounen and shoujo mixed nicely throughout. There's some romance, some comedy, some mystery, some drama, action, adventure... A little bit of many different things. It was a very interesting concept that the two had to hold hands or else Elraine would die, and it was developing really nicely! The author handled the abrupt ending really well--he gave Kiri x Elraine fans hope, and he left it in a way ... that if given the chance, the series could continue for a really long time.

Art: The arts starts off kind of iffy, but it gets much better as time goes on. The way the more comedic scenes are drawn is really funny! No annoyingly proportioned characters can really be found here. Everyone's feet are a bit big, but oh well.

Character: A nice cast of characters: Farran, the series, brooding, quirky guy. Kiri, the laid-back, talented teen. Elraine, the polite, gracious, kind girl. and Sui, the tough, fiery, independent, playful playgirl. There are more of course, but those are the main ones.

Enjoyment: 10/10. One of the most enjoyable and refreshing series I've seen in a long time. Such a shame the Japanese fans are losing their taste for these kind of story...

Komi Naoshi does it again--deep, comical, and thought-provoking all in one VERY prettily drawn package.

Story: Unique and interesting--Earth creating an ultimate being? and that being's destiny is to save the Earth from disaster? AND THAT BEING IS AN OTHERWISE FAIRLY AVERAGE TEENAGE BOY?! Quite interesting if I do say so myself. It had the potential to be drawn out a few more chapters, maybe 5 at most, but still a nice read. The ending is quite funny, too.

Art: What can I say? I love his ... art I love his art I love his art I love his art.

Character: Fairly good. Everyone can learn something from the main character. His friend could have been devloped a bit more, though.

Enjoyment: I really liked reading this! I liked it almost as much as Fruits Basket or Double Arts, even though it's very short.

Personant is a thought-provoking piece about right and wrong with a futuristic twist. I really liked this work by Komi Naoshi (I like all his work really, but anyway).. this story's main highlight is the idea of 'which is better? a flawed yet free world, or peaceful but phony world?'
And it's art. The art is really refreshing, as is the way the ideas in it are shown.

I would still reccomend it for ages 10 or 11 and up. It has some themes you need to ... be a little mature to understand, but they're presented in a simple enough way for someone younger. The story had a really nice pace, too!

It's a little bland in the way the story is told, but it's definately better than lot of manga out there.

Bottom line: 7.5/10
