This anime follows one character by the name of Ginko as he travels the land to research entities called "Mushi," along the way helping out people and villages who encounter problems with them. I found this story to be brilliant. I watched this as I was new to anime and I found that it was the most interesting and different from others that I've watched. It gave me a very relax mood as I was watching it- it even made me feel a bit spiritual. As the story goes on you'll find who Ginko really is and his real reasoning for traveling- *spoiler start* he ... cannot stay in one place at once because he attracts Mushishi to him. *spoiler end* The story traps you in their world which in my opinion is fantastic.

The art of the show is what you would see from older anime- but it is still very clean. The sound is great- I even have both soundtracks downloaded to my iPod, I listen to it almost daily.

Overall, this is a fantastic anime. It sets itself apart from a lot of other anime because there is no major actions scenes or typical things you would find in other shows. I greatly recommend it to everyone who likes to really get into what they're watching- it will really capture you into Ginko's world.
