First Impression - Subjected to change after finished the series.
The thing I get me interested in this series is its plot, idk if it's time travel or interdimension plot, it's somewhat interesting from the initial info (Trailers & Desc).
As of now (1/12), I can't say much about the plot. However, I kind of hate the art, or rather the CGI animation that obviously extremely stiff. The movements follow those of human but the camera perspective and angle doesn't match those of the background. No motion blur or fluid movement, it seem that the movement is so stiff in frame-by-frame.
Character designs and motives are too flat
...
according to what I can see from EP1.
Sound, nothing good or bad...
Let's see how it turn out to be...

Maybe this's a bit late for review (6yrs late), however, I'd still want to make this review for someone that might find it useful later and especially as distant feedback towards the makers of this series.
**This review/feedback has taken S;G into account/comparison**
Story: I'd say that it's quite good, but it got limited by the length of the movie itself, unfortunately. 2/3 of the story was almost all introduction and background. The peak of the story is quite short and rushed. It's quite good, however, compare to original S;G or traumatizing beta line S;G 0, it's almost nothing. This make me unable to reach the peak/climax
...
of the emotion, which I deem it as S;G characteristic.
However, I understand that "Time is so sad and fleeting, can't be controlled." so I give 7/10 in this part.
Art: I'm not so fan of deep sophisticated art, But I think it's "good enough" for the series. It's the same as original S;G and I think it shouldn't be changed. Given sci-fi plot, things could be made a bit more flashy. This, including its prequel and sequels, could do better.
Regardless, it can convey "Bittersweet memories" well. In this part, I give 8/10.
Sound:
+ Voice - As there're not many chance, considering packed, rushed, time-limited story, to give characters ediquate amount of proper expression. It couldn't give a peak emotinoal climax in the same level of its prequel, let alone it's sequels. But it's good enough in its own rights, in the level that story allow it to be.
+ BGMs - I'd say that they're perfect for the series. BMGs itself have been perfectly used to "Guides the travel toward an everlasting moment".
With these in my consideration, I give 9/10 for the sound.
Characters:
Characters are well design, mostly are from the original series. However, there're some part that lacking, partly, because of the story and time not allow them to reach its potential. Suzuha was too bland, Mayushii was exceedingly innocent and negatively clueless when she stopped Kurisu from rebuilt FG08. These are examples. Making the character dimension seems to be a tiny bit "duller" than what they used to be.
However, there're beauty in their own. "Foolish but it's humanity." I give 8/10.
Enjoyment: Unfortunately, time does not allow the story to go into prolonged tension and climax. It doesn't give the same intensity as its prequel or sequels did. However, this give a good tint of finishing touch on its own. Along with its prequel and sequels, It's pretty much enjoyable to see how the characters try to "make the moment lasts forever".
I give 8/10.
Overall: This is another good story despite its time limit. The story of one that "Defy the destiny in order to protect one she want to protect" from being "A drop in darkness, a small existence" in the void. Allow this series to be both "unique and precious" story I'd recommend my friends to watch. Of course, after S;G 1-22, S;G23b, S;G0 and S;G 24.
I give this movie 8/10.

Well, it might be a bit too late for review, however, I prefer towatch anime series in one go, so forgive me on that. Note that I'm a guy so there might be some gender bias in this matter.
This anime is unbelievably get me hooked, considered something a bit in Shoujo style rarely get me interested. The story itself is quite robust and intense, with some irritating turns of event as spices. (Which I find it very irritating, annoying but captivating at the same time.) The romance itself is very strong.
The MCs are quite robust designed in their characters. However, MCs' friends are not made
...
to be that robust, maybe because it can rival to MCs. However, I think it'd be better if MCs' friends were to be made as robust as it can go or else they're not look like equal human to me. Nonetheless, Characters design is quite good. So I give 9/10 on this.
For art, I was so surprised that shoujo style 'kira kira' didn't creep me out like it normally did. I think it was due to the robustness of the story. Charactors are well drawn. One thing I find so irritating was characters' skinship, like leaning on each other, hugging or even kissing are in no way realistic. Too much space between them like they are some hard stick hugging each other. Come on, consider the intense romance and pain, who the hell gonna hug like that, no way. I can only give 8/10 on this
For sound, I kind of disregard the OSTs coz I don't really care about it and I also don't like it. Voice acting was good. I kind of really like FMC voice. So in this regard I gave it 9/10.
Enjoyment, I really enjoyed watching this anime, to my own surprise. Insentity of the story and romance got me hooked. But as mention earlier, other couples other than MCs are not that intense and make them looked like more of the sidekick and less as human being. So I give 9/10 in this.
Overall, I gave 9 for this serie!
