Oh Clannad...
Series so popular, yet i still don't know why it's rated so high
This review includes spoiler to 1st Season of Clannad and minor spoliers to 2nd
Nothing serious, if you watched 1st season, fell free to read why i haven't gave this anime 10/10 and comment like : I WAS SOO CRYING ;-;!!11 AMAZING!!!"
First of all. I don't know how a "sad" moment in anime like Angel Beats or Clannad can change somebody's life. Sad moments happen but it's to be expected in romance anime. But let's get onto the actual review :
Story : 6/10
For my personal taste, story was too hard to follow to

fully enjoy it.
Even tho i understood everything, they could JUST made it a normal story without this "other world" and complicating it even more. It would be much more enjoyable.
The story takes place "After story" of original Clannad (See what i did there?).
It's one of the few romance anime that actually goes further than kissing and "love". We see characters grow up, they are being much more mature and responsible.
The story is VERY focused on relationship between Nagisa and Okazaki.
Sadly, all the previous characters from Season 1 are basically gone. We only see them sometimes for a short moment.
One of best parts about season 1 for me, was that Sunohara was funny as hell, making me enjoying the story more than it did here.
Even tho Ryou and Kyou had crush on Okazaki in 1st season, there is none of that here. Not even mentioned!
Art : 8/10
Key showed us that they can make a beautiful anime
The Art is mostly "sweet". Nothing really outstanding, but it does it job very well. Worth mentioning are very unique eyes design, from 1st season
Sound : 10/10
For me, the best part of Clannad is it's OST
All the openings/endings were Good/Very good
It's brilliant, emotional, outstanding and very enjoyable to listen to.
Tsuruoka Yota did an amazing job at creating OST. Mostly every song is worth listening to on Youtube while doing something other, like playing games. It's created with very wide variety of instruments. It doesn't limit itself to only 1 style, and that's what great about it!

Characters : 5/10
The biggest issue with characters, is that most of them are very cliché.
My favourite characters are : Okazaki and Akio
Okazaki is one of few non-cliché characters that i really enjoyed watching and growing up, becoming more mature and evolving from student into a Man that works hard and tries his best.
Akio is very funny, impulsive character with VERY good back story and motivations. Helpful, cool and great father that likes to make fun of Nagisa from time to time. One of best characters of this anime
Nagisa is very sensitive, "cute" girl with this "cute" voice that is so "cute" you don't care about her at all. Can't (really) take care of herself and has a weak body, therefore was designed to make you cry.
And i HATE that this anime didn't even bothered telling more of side characters backstories. Like Okazaki's father, Tomoyo, Ryou and Kyou, Misae, Sunohara, and so on and so on. This anime basically abandomed all the characters back story to focus on main characters, but we don't really know much of Okazaki's backstory neither. That anime is a non-typical tearjerker that gave all the good sides away, just to make you cry
I'm not counting OVA's in here!
Enjoyment (7) and overall opinion (6):
I enjoyed watching this series. All the comedy from 1st and 2nd season were great addition to not so great main plot. I got VERY disappointed with this anime and i see shit tons of potential that just got wasted.
Overall i can't recommend this anime, if you have high expectations then you'll be disappointed. And the ending is a JOKE that raises more questions than it anwsers. One of worst ending i have experienced yet, nightmare!
