The My Hero Academia: Make It! Do-or-Die Survival Training OVAs were such a fun and refreshing watch before diving deeper into Season 3. 🌟 Even though they don’t directly impact the main story, they capture what makes MHA so enjoyable—the teamwork, the humor, and the heart of Class 1-A.
Episode 1 set the stage nicely, giving us the thrill of a rescue mission while showing how the students rely on each other’s quirks and strategies. Winny and Willow were hyped by the teamwork on display, while Tails couldn’t stop laughing at the lighter comedic beats. Mimikyu loved how the tension kept building, and Sunny admired how
...
the students handled the pressure.
Episode 2 cranked up the intensity with the flooding mall scenario 💦, making the training truly feel “do-or-die.” Bakugo’s big hero moment had everyone cheering (even Shadow admitted it was cool 😏), while Amy got teary-eyed seeing how far the class had come together. Sonic and Knuckles agreed the action was top-notch, and Kuromi thought the frantic pacing gave the whole episode extra edge.
Overall, these OVAs aren’t essential, but they’re definitely recommended for fans who want more time with the crew. 🎬✨ They’re like a fun side quest—lighthearted, action-packed, and full of Class 1-A’s charm. The Plushie Crew had an absolute blast watching them together, and we’d say they’re the perfect warm-up before continuing the main story. 💥 Plus Ultra!
Verdict: ⭐ Recommended for all My Hero Academia fans who love character-driven side stories and want a mix of fun, heart, and classic MHA action.

**Review – My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (8/10)**
✨ *plus ultra energy, cinematic flair, and friendship vibes!* ✨
We jumped into *Two Heroes* after wrapping up Season 2, and honestly? This movie felt like a full-blown hero treat 🍿💥. The Plushie Crew wasn’t sure what to expect, especially since we watched the **Dub** (rare for us, since we’re usually Team Sub 💬🇯🇵), but… surprise! It was actually *so* well-acted, emotionally strong, and full of energy 🌈🔥.
🎬 **Visuals?** Top-tier.
🎵 **OST?** Absolute banger.
🦾 **Action?** Snappy, fluid, and filled with that MHA intensity we love.
💫 **Themes?** Heroism, legacy, teamwork—delivered with care.
...
Each of us took something away from it:
* **Winny** was totally immersed in the cinematic fights and pacing—“movie night perfection.”
* **Willow** admired the deeper messages and All Might’s quiet weight in the story.
* **Mimikyu** was so still during the climax, we knew he was emotionally locked in.
* **Amy** adored Melissa’s vibe—strong, smart, and just the right energy 🌸
* **Tails** geeked out over tech scenes—“I'd upgrade that system in my sleep.”
* **Kuromi** loved the mood shifts and tender interactions.
* **Sunny** sparkled the whole way through: “it’s like candy for the heart!” 🍬
* **Sonic** said it’s the perfect blend of speed and soul.
* **Knuckles** was punching the air in sync with the battles.
* **Shadow** gave it his usual seal of cool approval: “Respect.” 😎
While the story isn’t *crucial* to the main plot, it still feels meaningful. A cinematic side story with plenty of heart, action, and a lot of *PLUS ULTRA* power 💥💙.
If you’re deep into the MHA universe or just craving a fun, action-packed anime movie to enjoy with your friends—this one’s worth the watch.

💫 "You too can become a hero..." — The Legacy Begins 💫
Rating: 9/10
This short but emotionally loaded special gave us feels overload! 😭🔥
Watching All Might Rising with the whole Plushie Crew before continuing our MHA journey was a perfect choice. Even though it’s under 2 minutes, it hits hard — not just visually, but thematically. It’s the origin of the Symbol of Peace… and it really gave us a deeper appreciation for All Might’s resolve and pain.
Winny and Willow were stunned by the intensity. 🐻🐉
Mimikyu and Kuromi got emotional over how much All Might lost. 😢
Amy and Sunny admired his unbreakable spirit. 🌅💖
Tails and Sonic
...
geeked out over the animation (those few seconds were so beautifully done). ⚡💨
Knuckles and Shadow? They went quiet — the "respect silence." 😤🖤
While we all wished it had been a longer episode or even a movie (there's so much potential!), what we got was still a powerful tribute to what it means to be a hero. Even in the darkest moment, there’s a spark that lights the way for the next generation. 🌟🦷
If you're an MHA fan, this is a must-watch right after Two Heroes — short, sharp, and full of heart.
PLUS ULTRA! 💪✨

🔥🎌 The Plushie Crew Goes Plus Ultra! 🎌🔥
Season 2 had us hooked from start to finish! We watched it right after the OVA and wow — it leveled up in every way. The U.A. Sports Festival arc was insane! 💥 Winny and Willow loved the pacing and emotional storytelling, while Mimikyu and Amy were totally pulled into the character arcs, especially Todoroki and Uraraka. 😭✨
Tails was all in for the smart fights and strategy moments (his favs!), while Kuromi and Sunny vibed with the animation and that fire OST. 🎶🌈 Sonic and Knuckles were pure hype every episode — fists clenched, eyes wide. 💪⚡ Even
...
Shadow, quiet as ever, said the story “finally hit its stride.” 👊🖤
From explosive fights to deeper themes of identity and heroism, this season had everything. Deku’s crying? Still there 😅... but now it makes sense. The growth, world-building, and heart made this a true standout.
9/10 — We laughed, we cried, we screamed: PLUS ULTRA!! 🏆🦸♂️💚

✨“Training of the Dead” — A Nostalgic Side Quest with Zombie Vibes
⭐️ 7/10
Right before wrapping up the last few episodes of My Hero Academia Season 2, The Plushie Crew took a quick detour—because our anime sensei Huzi told us we had to check out the OVA “Training of the Dead” after episode 20. And honestly? Totally worth the pit stop.
This OVA feels like one of those classic, non-canon anime specials from the 2000s—random zombie outbreak, a bit of chaos, and lots of character-driven fun. It doesn’t try to push the main story forward, but instead gives the cast a breather and lets them shine in
...
a quirky, offbeat way.
The zombie apocalypse twist is so bizarre it loops back around to being genius. Bakugo’s combat IQ? 🔥 Todoroki’s chill logic? ❄️ Tsuyu and Tokoyami getting the screen time they deserve? Yes, please. And don’t even get us started on the group chemistry—it felt like watching your favs go on a summer camp gone wrong.
Tails was straight-up wheezing from laughter the whole time. Mimikyu kept pointing out the weird logic behind the “training,” but we were all vibing too hard to care. It was a fun ride—nothing too deep, but definitely the kind of filler we wish more anime would do.
For anyone who’s deep in MHA and wants a nostalgic, easygoing breather before the emotional bombshells of the main arc... this one’s for you. 🍿
Plus Ultra, but with zombies. 🧟♂️

(Fun Side Episode!)
Watched the My Hero Academia OVA on our anime night before diving into Season 2—thanks to our anime geek friend Huzi for recommending it to stay in the lore! It felt like a fun, old-school break episode with a different vibe from the main season, more relaxed, but still connected to what happened after Season 1.
The whole crew enjoyed the chemistry and comedy, especially Tails, who couldn’t stop laughing. It was great seeing everyone back in action in a lighthearted way. A cool little extra that made the MHA world feel even more alive. Definitely worth watching before continuing the series!

PLUS ULTRA BEGINNINGS: The Plushie Crew’s First Dive into Anime with My Hero Academia Season 1 (9/10)
After spending countless evenings watching movies and TV series together, The Plushie Crew finally decided it was time to explore the vast universe of anime. With little experience beyond scattered clips of Pokémon, Dragon Ball, and Naruto, choosing a starting point felt overwhelming. Thankfully, Tails—being the techie and superhero fan he is—suggested My Hero Academia, and honestly, it turned out to be the perfect pick.
Season 1 of My Hero Academia was an emotional and energetic ride that struck a surprising chord with all of us. The show quickly pulled
...
the entire crew into its world of quirks and heroes. Winny, Willow, and Mimikyu especially connected with the protagonist’s journey from underdog to aspiring hero. His struggle felt genuine and inspiring, and his relationships—whether filled with rivalry or mentorship—made each step of his growth deeply satisfying.
The action scenes? Absolutely electrifying. Willow, Kuromi, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow were blown away by the intensity and animation quality. The visual effects and fluid fight sequences added so much excitement that even some of us who weren’t into action before found ourselves completely hooked.
Yet, this wasn’t just about high-energy battles. The emotional moments were just as impactful. The story captured themes of heroism, friendship, and responsibility in a way that felt both mature and heartfelt. The entire crew agreed: the characters feel—not just like heroes—but like real people chasing dreams in a world full of challenges.
Of course, it wasn’t perfect. Amy and Mimikyu noticed that the pacing in the first half felt a bit slow at times, and some of the villains in this season didn’t leave as strong an impression as others. A few background characters were left in the shadows (no pun intended, Shadow!), but that didn’t stop us from wanting to see more of them in future seasons.
Overall, My Hero Academia Season 1 was a fantastic gateway into anime for The Plushie Crew. It combined emotion, action, and strong storytelling in a way that left us eager for more. Whether you're new to anime or just love a good superhero story with heart, this one definitely deserves a spot on your watchlist.
Final Rating from The Plushie Crew: 9/10 — PLUS ULTRA!
