Unlike its predecessors, Da Capo II mostly ties the main plot and sub plot. The big idea in this series, xenophobia to robots, was introduced echoing the last two series about bananas. Surprisingly the relationship between the protagonist and Koko was established quickly. Their obstacles in their relationship was fairly predictable, being too nice and general insensitivity from the classic protagonist. The story progressed much faster as a 13 episode series which was great because the three characters (Yoshiyuki, Koko, and Minatasu) were fairly fleshed out.

The sequel's story could have been much better than the first one. The first couple of episodes put a mysterious girl into Junichi's household and were interesting. Once her arc was completed, the standard development for each new character introduced started. The introduction of a familiar face mid way through the series was a nice refresher and tensions arose. However what the story suffered was a rehash of the prequel. The final arc was well introduced, the reasons were understandable but why use the same plot device? It is an echo to the first season but once it started the viewers knew the solution. Art-7 Considerably better ...

The story was trying to be serious but failed because the lack of character development. There were episodes where each girl had their own episode but their stories were mediocre and not surprising.At the earlier episodes where the "cat man" appeared were very interesting and asked the viewers who was that guy but the episode that "revealed" him disappointed me. Art-5 The art is dated and is average. Sound-5 What irks me was Kotori singing but it was again average and nothing memorable. Character-6 Nemu and Sakura battling for Junichi was not a surprise.
