Eh, She's fine, she's not bad at all, but she's dedicated to the sword and nothing else. She comes out at decent but rarely adds anything to the plot. I'd say play it and check out the other girls, there is one that is as well fleshed out as a Sky character, and the rest ranges from decent to good. The "route" doesn't end until CS2, so you have plenty of time for that
Gonna keep it short, this is what I think of CS1&2:
Pros:
- Great scenery, landscapes and details
- Good music (on a certain degree)
- Good story for the most part (mostly the lore connected to Liberl and Crossbell)
Cons:
- Bad MC which is a self insert dense harem "chosen one" protagonist, with really cheesy dialogues and a LOT of "why" moments.
- Long character cast which means that half of them are going to be underdeveloped. The main heroine is very bad, there are far better females that could've work better as such or even as the main character
- Brain dead easy difficulty, Forget about Quartz Tetris, you can just equip a single Quartz that gives you access to really strong arts and stats, game can be easily broken with certain Quartz and abilities that you earn easily.
- There's a "war" going on, but the lack of consequences coming from it makes it look unrealistic, which ties it to the MC feeling like a Gary Stu.
- The god damn bonding system, every single character is centered on the MC, and they don't flesh out with other characters as much as they should (specially coming from a special cast of characters who SHOULD work as a team), also, there is an essential part of the story hidden withing said system, which makes it even worse since you can't view all the events unless you play it on NG+ with unlimited bonding points. Sure, this thing is optional, but that's not an excuse for being an underwhelming feature that should be more rewarding
- Very BORING parts, (there is a sequence in CS2 where you gotta grind through a 16 floors dungeon which layout is random each time with no creativity put into it)
I'm sure there's more into it, but I guess that's what hurts the most in comparison to Sky. If you are still going to try it, just, don't expect too much, try to get your hands on an NG+ save, since, there is an NG+ exclusive scene in CS2.
