Kaguya-sama is for sure the most recognizable anime of the last years, to say nothing of the romcom genre specifically. And I still struggle to understand what the base of that popularity and obsession is. My biggest issue is that aside from character introduction and the few final episodes of the third season there wasn't anything spectacular, nor captivating interaction between the characters. So it's pretty easy to drop the show if you are want to enjoy any development and don't find comedy aspect of Kaguya entertaining. Fortunately, the movie changes the course and primarily focuses on the character aspect.
The biggest enjoyment of the third

season was the satisfying ending, that was the result of the three season setup. Even if you weren't deeply invested in the characters, you would inevitably grow on them throughout the whole tv series. The movie slightly changes perspective and trying to add deepness to the main characters. So the faint contradiction occurs between the gag characters of the previous seasons and characters of the movie. Therefore, this deepness appears to be unnatural and pretensions. It is not a big issue though, because the change of their conduct isn't complete and overall they remain the same.
The humor also changed but this time for the better. Sometimes the anime isn't afraid to scoff default anime joke tropes. It is the first time I laughed watching this. This is a packed show, so pacing drastically accelerated. Hence, there is no self-contained mini arcs, side stories, or humor dedicated episodes, that have nothing to do with the main story. Everything resolves around Kaguya and Shirogane.
The visual of a movie continuation usually better than tv series and this one is not an exception. I wouldn't say that the movie raise the bar in animation, but it is smoother and better than the tv series. The same goes for music.
I think this is the best part of the Kaguay-sama franchise. Previously, the anime resolved around the same gimmick, where two protagonists love each other but refuse to confess out of their pride, and the same type of humor. Starting from the final of the third season and proceeding with the movie, the anime is slightly changing the course and bringing something new, that allow me to enjoy it.
