Let's review Blood-C as someone who had no idea it was a franchise, in the year of our lord, 2023.

Let us start at the beginning with our quirky MC, Saya. She's your average high school girl just looking for friends, and loves helping her father at his shrine... Or does she? Or is she? Wait, what are we talking about? The first few episodes (and I'm feeling generous) just DRAG on with the SAME format over and over. I have to admit, while watching the said 'first few episodes' I was playing a game, ... but in my defense, I went back and re-watched them because I thought I was going crazy. It went something like this:

Girl loves dad, girl sings song about loving dad, girl goes to cafe, girl is late for school, girl talks with friends for an extended period of time, girl watches someone die, girl kills bad guy, girl wakes up in bed. Rinse and repeat 10 times, and congrats! You made it just in time for the last 2 episodes.

There really isn't a ton to say about the episodes before the last couple, but it essentially boils down to this: none of the characters have ANY depth at all, which would make sense if they have succeeded in their ambitious Truman Show angle, but they didn't. Saya gets constant visions of a conglomerate of stuff, and a narrator who is giving us useless riddles. But as it just so happens, none of it is going to make sense. None of it is hinting to a particular ending. If Blood+ had any important information, feel free to let me know, because the measly 12 episodes felt like years with how hard my head was spinning. Don't get me wrong, I love a good twist ending, but when nothing else has any substance, it really felt like I should have just watched the ending and called it a day.

So why mixed feelings? Truly, the worst part was the plot (you mean the most important part? yeah.) the soundtrack is fine, the intro and outro are quite nice and the combat was FUN. The MC's actions were quite inconsistent, but when she was fighting, it was enjoyable.

All in all I'd give it a boring/10. I feel like it could have been good, but the producers were trying to do too much at once. A 10 episode build up would make more sense for something with more time, but that just didn't happen. The result? Boring characters, a confusing plot with little substance, and a ridiculous ending.

This is manga is awesome in its mystery sense ( as people noted) but they seemed to have a problem with character development and (if you've read read it) the mc personality in general. Which is understandable, however... I don't fully understand the complaints. She begins working as a meter maid, and unexpectedly gets thrown into danger ( an excessive amount of it too ). Not everyone can be cool, calm, and collected while facing a blood painted clown. Though I say this, I do understand the fact that ... the mc is a whiner of sorts, but not exclusively bad ( can't really say that about a lot of manga )
Moving onto Himuro... his character really got me. ( that doesn't make this review biased... *cough* moving on! ) he had a STORY. I think thats what I really loved... He developed, in a good way, and things played out in the end.
TBH, I got this series on sale, not knowing what to expect, but I certainly wasn't disappointed. :)

When I heard of a great Shakespeare play becoming an anime, I was extremely excited. I am truly sorry to say this kind of let me down. Of course, it IS an anime, it should have twists and be awesome (like any good anime) but I just did NOT get it. It had a great first few episodes, the heart racing kind, then it went a little downhill... After about episode 8, everything (I mean everything) I could see anything that was coming a mile away. Cliche does not even begin to describe it. I believe this had a lot of potential, but it is ... pretty hard to describe why without spoilers. If you think this is for you, you go ahead! I just think they missed the mark on this one.
