Written with 6 episodes watched.
Story: At first, True Tears appears to be your typical guy meets girl(s), guy must pick a girl storyline, but as you continue to watch the series, several apparent underlying themes reveal themselves. Although it is somewhat similar to most romance animes, I particularly like how True Tears has all "contenders", if you will, continuously active through the series; instead of concentrating on 1 girl then moving on to the next through a series of different story arcs.
Art: The artwork presented in True Tears is simply breathtaking. Each scene is drawn with great detail, while the characters themselves are quite
...
simply, a work of art. Not only are the female characters a pleasure to look at (wink), the male characters are, too, well drawn. Generally most scenes are bright and very easy on the eyes and if you have the opportunity of watching it in hi-res format, take it! Your eyes will thank you, and you'll enjoy the experience that much more. The animation of the characters is very realistic, and thus far in the all character movements have been within human boundaries (no 10 meter high fly kicks :P). With that said, the anime is no KyoAni, but I'd personally rate it pretty close.
Sound: The opening theme, as with most of Eufonius' tracks, is pleasing to listen to. The music throughout the series doesn't impact on the experience much, although there are some extremely well timed moments and perfectly suited songs that make the screne *that* much more deep and meaningful.
Character: The 4 main characters in the series are all likable, even though 3 of them lack confidence in directly approaching an issue, although that's common with most romance animes. The character development is steady through the first few episodes, you get to know who they are and what they're like quite quickly.
Overall the anime, thus far, has been enjoyable. There are various humorous parts that I thoroughly enjoyed and a fair amount of moving moments which I also enjoyed. A good watch for people who are KyoAni fans, or are just generally into Romance/Drama animes.
