Ultimately, the most logical assumption to make, especially prior to episode 21, was that she was erased in the most, especially since there are no other specifics in the anime to say that she actively died in battle or anything given that she disappeared.
Oh, ok then. Yeah, it's never called by a species other than the White Whale, but Mabeast is the official terminology from the legal sites (it's a stupid sounding name by the way).
But that contradicts what happened with various characters prior, namely Rem And Otto. If they know that the soldiers have died, how come they don't know the solders and that their names have never been recorded? The only explanation is some kind of rewriting of causality caused by the most, but again, it's inconsistent with what happened during episode 17.
That is a hefty leap in logic, especially since (correct me if I'm wrong) the anime never stated that the White Whale was explicitly a creation from the witch. Her influence was never strong to begin with in the anime. Her only influence was that he could see the Unseen Hands and that she could squeeze his heart if he told that he could return by death
Nothing in the show suggests that people only forget about their existence given that they are physically no longer there writhed, hence erased from existence. Regardless, it's still insanely narrative-breaking, especially since Subaru still remembers the despite this and he can jump back in time, to when those guys were still physically around, and the show doesn't remotely go out of its way to explain this, as dumb as it still is. Maybe the LN explained it, but the anime sure as hell didn't. Besides, does that mean this rewrites causality? That's the only way it can feasibly affect people that aren't hit by the mist, am I right?
