This anime breaks my heart. I loved it a lot it was the hidden gem of the season for me. Then episode 12 happened, and all my love for it went off a cliff. I don't understand how this happened I can not understate how much I was enjoying it. The op is still really good I've listened to it on repeat a bunch, and the magic transformations are great too. Literally everything I was afraid they would do. As many of you probably know ash is finally free. This was the final send off, and my goodness its awful. Ash has been the protagonist for 20 plus years so there are so many loose ends to tie up, and this doesn't... tie up like any of them. In fact, it goes so far as to regress characters like brock, and misty just to explain why they are with ash again. I really liked this show, however I'm not sure how much one would enjoy this if they were not familiar with the games. This show takes place between the games trails of cold steel 2 and 3, in another country. The cool thing about the trails world is that it's very much living and breathing. We follow a soldier girl on a secret mission to find out who an opposing empire's secret hero weapon is (The protagonist of the cold steel games.)
