These anime are mostly based on romance and comedy. Both of the protagonists in these anime have a large height difference from the other protagonist. Both start out as a friendship-like situation, neither imagine the other as a romantic partner.

Both girls in the story are transported to a different time by being attacked. There they are forced to rely on whats supposed to be their "enemy". Both of these girls show strong female leadership when most crucial, so it's not just the guy saving the girl all the time.

Both of these anime have a high school girl transported back in time. Both also have a lot of love triangles, squares, and pentagons. One of the only differences is that there a more demons involved in Inuyasha and the main character Kagome doesn't try to become a priestess but she is the reincarnation of one. Other than that its pretty much the same!
