Piano lovers may have been disappointed in the lack of "true" piano playing in Piano, and thus, I recommend Nodame Cantabile.

Genshiken is a more serious and realistic version of Lucky Star, although focusing on male characters. Both series deal with "Ero-games", although they are more "featured" in Genshiken.

Another serious, fancy-style anime with a slight focus on alcohol, Ristorante Paradiso carries the same elegance and sophistication that Bartender boasts.

Bokura ga Ita

Both series feature "on-again off-again" relationships between the main character and her love interest. In both series, there is also a third guy that gets caught up in the mix. Light comedy is prevalent in both series (although more noticeable in Peach Girl). The most outstanding similarity, however, is that both anime focuses on, not if the girl gets with the guy, but the actual happenings and goings-on INSIDE of the relationship.

Just think of Nodame Cantabile as La Corda d'Oro with a mature spin to it. Both anime revolve heavily around Classical music, although Nodame Cantabile is more serious about it. Both of the main characters play violin also. Both anime take place in school (a music conservatory for Nodame Cantabile). If you're looking for a more mature and "grown-up" La Corda (minus magic fairies), then this anime's for you.

Nabari no Ou

Nabari no Ou is for....more "grown-up" viewers who possibly liked Naruto. Both Naruto and Nabari no Ou feature ninjas using "jutsu" (ninja techniques). Nabari no Ou has a more modern feel to it than Naruto (one of the ninja characters uses a gun as his main weapon). This series is MUCH shorter than Naruto, but Naruto fans will most likely enjoy this anime a lot.

Both anime have girls of low social classes attending a prestigious school, and both anime are LOADED with comedy! As far as length goes, they have almost the same amount of episodes.
