Where do I even begin? Quite possibly the worst cartoon ever made? Possibly. Everything is terrible in the one. There's not one element I can think of which isn't laughable. From the whiny characters, to the gratuitous fanservice. And don't get me started on the last episode. Black and white and using a montage of sketches for the final battle?! Give me a break...
The only redeeming quality is its short length. If you are looking for an actually decent mecha show, stick with Gundam Seed. I would rather rewatch that a dozen times than have to put up with even another minute of this rubbish.

This anime remains unfinished. There is no ending, because they ran out of money, therefore were only able to adapt the first half of the manga. Which is a shame, because otherwise it could have easily made it into my top 10 OVA list.
It has great design and cinematography. The animation and action is smooth. Nice opening too. I recommend reading the manga first for the story, then watch the anime for the enjoyable audio-visual ride that it is.

The overall design and animation was superb (just what you would expect from the director of Magnetic Rose and Beyond - 2 of my favorite short animated films). The 'story' was meant to unfold in an abstract fashion, but it was so disjointed and incoherent that it became annoying at times. It's definitely worth watching if you're into surreal images and experimental animation - but don't go in expecting much in the way of character development or plot (although it does make sense in its own unconventional way).
