Although my taste in anime is (what I assume to be) mainstream: Cowboy Bebop, Big O, Akira. What really attracts me to the genre are the erotic elements. Having said that, I think that anime, as a medium, has the ability and freedom to engage in philosophical debates and cultural critiques. So if anyone has any suggestions of good movies or shows, don't hesitate to pass them along.
