First, let me tell you that I've cried with every single episode of this series and I already wish for a lot more than one season.
That aside, I guess it's been a real long time since I watched something ongoing and actually enjoyed it. To me, Mashiro no Oto is a modern seasonal anime, using classic anime literature, coming up with its own "sound", and more importantly, being different from whatever I've seen through the last five years.
