Azumanga Daoih is the sequel to the hit American show Seinfield, although even less happens in it. The story is not complex. It's basically just random stuff that happens during the high school days of a bunch of Japanese schoolgirls. Then they graduate and the show is over.

The art is nice. There isn't any mindblowing animation, but that's ok. There are a lot of panning and still shots. Most of the time these are played for comedy, but sometimes they are played for tragedy. The girls are cute, and that's really all that matters. This show, along with Promised Neverland, pioneered what I like to call the "child suffering" genre. This is probably as good as the genre can get in all honesty, although that's not really an insult. Madoka did it before of course, but not as well, and some obscure 80s anime probably did it first, but this is one of the most well-known and also my favorite.

The story is not worth talking about, because there's really nothing to talk about. I barely remember what happens anyway, and you probably won't either after you finish it.

The art is very, very good. They use a lot of styles of animation, creating bizarre moving setpiece illusions of three-dimensionality out of these standard-looking anime characters, granting an authentic ...

This is a show about girls being sad, having hope, then being sad again. If you like to watch people suffer, this is the show for you.

I thought the story was okay. Looking back it doesn't make much sense, but that isn't a huge deal to me. The ending stuck with me for a few days, so I'll give it that.

One of my favorite things to do while watching this show is to pay attention to any character who isn't talking or moving because they always look like they were drawn by a guy with parkinson's. I got a lot of chuckles from that. ...
