Azumanga Daoih is the sequel to the hit American show Seinfield, although even less happens in it. The story is not complex. It's basically just random stuff that happens during the high school days of a bunch of Japanese schoolgirls. Then they graduate and the show is over.
The art is nice. There isn't any mindblowing animation, but that's ok. There are a lot of panning and still shots. Most of the time these are played for comedy, but sometimes they are played for tragedy. The girls are cute, and that's really all that matters. Pretty sure Kimura was the art director for this show.
The music
...
works, and so do the sound effects. There just isn't much to say about them. The one that stood out to me was the one they used to censor Nyamo's birds and the bees talk. I like it.
The characters are the best. Chiyo is a young prodigy who is both highly intelligent and mildly dumb. She is cute. Tomo is annoying, but necessary. She is cute. Yomi isn't annoying, but she is unnecessary. She is still cute though. Osaka is the best. And Sakaki too. You'll understand my mad ramblings when you watch the show.
I really enjoyed this show, even though it could be a little slow sometimes. None of the jokes really land, but somehow that makes it even better. You will be enthralled, mainly because the only times you will watch it are when you don't have anything better to do. That's what this show is: a time killer. And it's a good one.
Overall it's nice and pleasant with just a tinge of humor and sadness. Gud.

This show, along with Promised Neverland, pioneered what I like to call the "child suffering" genre. This is probably as good as the genre can get in all honesty, although that's not really an insult. Madoka did it before of course, but not as well, and some obscure 80s anime probably did it first, but this is one of the most well-known and also my favorite.
The story is basically a series of bad things that happen to the main characters. There is a lot of cool worldbuilding, lore, <insert whatever autistic buzzword you want> here, and it really helps the watcher engage with the child
...
suffering.
The art is noice. Backgrounds look like they were painted by some famous really good painter and the characters and creatures look like they were drawn by some famous really good Japanese animator. The gore is very detailed and disturbing, especially on first watch. Don't show Made in Abyss to any of your friends.
The music is pretty good, although I didn't really notice it while watching. Sound effects are top-notch, especially the blood splatter and bone crunching sound effects. Don't show Made in Abyss to your enemies either. You don't want to give them any ideas.
The characters are okay. They usually behave how you would expect them to, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They're just not these mind-blowing enigmatic labyrinths of emotion you see in some other shows. Most of the time you will just be feeling bad for them.
I enjoyed this show a lot, both for the worldbuilding and for the drama that occurs. Overall I highly enjoyed it, but wouldn't recommend it. I think it is rather dangerous for anyone to recommend this show to anyone else. Just watch it and remain silent. You know, if you want to.

This show is a chore to sit through, but very fun to look back on after you've already watched it. I don't know what this show is about, probably because the director was trying to make a statement using symbolism and clever analogies. I missed all of them.
The story is not worth talking about, because there's really nothing to talk about. I barely remember what happens anyway, and you probably won't either after you finish it.
The art is very, very good. They use a lot of styles of animation, creating bizarre moving setpiece illusions of three-dimensionality out of these standard-looking anime characters, granting an authentic
...
feel to the weirdo world everyone in the show inhabits. That word salad I just wrote is about as comprehensible as this show's animation. But not nearly as good.
The music is top-notch, probably because it is entirely Japanese rock music played through cranked amps and recorded in a broom closet. It's a vibe, a jam, a real bop, etc.
The characters are both very cool and very boring. They look cool, they act cool, but I didn't care about them. They suck. But they don't. Naota himself is rather milquetoast, a word which here means "getting pushed around a lot". He needs to stop drinking so much soda.
I enjoyed this show in brief flashes while I was watching, but I think this show is best enjoyed in retrospect. You'll see what I mean when you've finished it and left it alone for a few weeks. It'll start slowly creeping its way back into your head, and then you won't be able to stop thinking about it. But you'll still never watch it again.
Overall, I recommend it. I know it sounds like I just trashed it, but that's because the bad stuff is the only stuff that's really able to be described. RIDE ON SHOOTING STAR BABEEE

This is a show about girls being sad, having hope, then being sad again. If you like to watch people suffer, this is the show for you.
I thought the story was okay. Looking back it doesn't make much sense, but that isn't a huge deal to me. The ending stuck with me for a few days, so I'll give it that.
One of my favorite things to do while watching this show is to pay attention to any character who isn't talking or moving because they always look like they were drawn by a guy with parkinson's. I got a lot of chuckles from that.
...
The psychedelic visuals in the witch realms were very cool on the other hand, and the battle animation was solid.
I like the music a lot, especially Mami's theme. No problems there.
The characters were a mixed bag, but especially Madoka herself. She's annoying and barely does anything. On the other hand, what little she does is very significant. I found Kyouko and Mami to be the most interesting personally.
I enjoyed it quite a bit while watching, mainly because I didn't know what to expect. The plot twists come out of nowhere, which most people either love or hate. I love it because I'm usually too stupid to pick up on foreshadowing anyway. Me is dumb.
If you think you stupid too, you watch show. Me think you like.
