Code geass (both seasons) is my personal favourite anime. At this point in time I consider it the best I have seen.
There is so much about it that I like, It is intelligent, it has good fights, is has exellent pacing, interesting characters, is very unpredictable and has a supernatural element that fits with the rest in a good way without becoming stupid.
It depicts very acurately how a real war is waged, something you rarely see in media.
You make plans, the plan goes bad, you need to improvise or perish, your enemy makes new plans, if you don't counter them you are in trouble
