I'd seen a whole crapload of hype about this on 4chan, and after talking to a friend about it, I decided to give it a shot. I guess the only thing that kept me watching School Days was that I knew what was going to happen at the end. Up until the last three episodes, it's a pretty boring drama with unlikable characters and a slow-moving plot, but watching it was worth it, just so I could see that epic ending ;)
