Hey, just wanted to drop a line and say that for whenever you come back online I'd love to chat with you again. I've missed our conversations.

Hope things are going well! ^_^

Yep, I'm pretty well versed in what to stock up on for a long road trip, my family has to drive every time we go to MO (and that's a 14-16hr drive ><). I'm actually more concerned on what music I want to listen to on the way, I'd rather listen to music than talk while in the car.
Ergh, yeah and I hate drama ><. It really does seem inevitable doesn't it, lol. Yeah, if I have to end relationships in the future I hope that they can end in the same way. I'm not really the fighting type, I prefer to sit down and talk things out logically, which seems to have worked for me so far ^^.
Hmm, since the first day of the con is May 28 I'll be leaving on either the 26 or 27th, depending on how long the drive is going to be.

I try not to be. I want everyone involved to want to be involved. If you set things up correctly then they are either incompatible or willing.

Rocky Horror still stands the test of time. I don't really like the term religion. Religion is how a certain type of person has to approach the divine. They need the herd to hold them up. That being said, the individual practices are given, as well as the work necessary for gaining "enlightenment." There is also a group ritual based upon communion. There is a strong element attempting to focus on this portion and transform the spiritual philosophy into a vulgar set of religious practices.

If you are familiar with the Hindu Caste system, religion is the opiate for the worker caste. The merchant caste tends to religion as well, but their true allegiance tends to be money. The Priests keep the workers and merchants from causing mischief through perverting the doctrines. The Warriors lead. They may attend the rituals, but their spirituality is derived from their own self, rather than through observance.

Hopefully that made sense.

I've been to most of the places along the West Coast. I hope to travel through Europe, but unless something changes, all of my efforts are focused on completing my degree and getting to Japan.

Tribal affiliations vary in strength. The people at your workplace also constitute a tribe of sorts. It is very hard to have a network as small as you indicate. I am generally misanthropic and I have a couple to few dozen members of my tribe.

Evola is my favorite Traditionalist author.

Cool, your MTBI complements mine. You get to be the sensitive one & I am the hard-ass but when we agree the world will shake in the fury of our judgments ;)

The last few books of sci-fi I've been reading have been rather straight forward military sci-fi by David Weber. I just finished "Yakuza Moon" which is an autobiography by the daughter of a Yakuza (drugs, violence, abusive relationships, suicide, etc). It was rather enjoyable. My favorite philosopher is Nietzsche. I started with "Thus Sprake Zarathrustra" but "Beyond Good & Evil" is also a nice place to start.

Most of the freaking out stuff occurred when the youngest was 1-3 years old. Now they are old enough to be left home alone and seldom want to go with me to the store or some such. Now the concern seems to be that I will try to force them to bear me 4 more children. I am pretty much done. If my future partner wants a child, I am not adamantly opposed, but they would have to convince me a little.

Communities are seldom as unified as their detractors (or even their promoters) describe. I can't really think of anything unique that would qualify as the "greatest atrocity of all time." The infliction of the bubonic plague on Europe, the infliction of smallpox on the Native Americans, the first genocide of Palestine (as chronicled in the old testament) are all pretty horrific. Even if we constrain ourselves to the 20th century, the Nazi's killed 6 million or so, Stalin killed 17 million and Mao killed over 70 million (by some estimates). Reading history is to read a litany of war, genocide, assassination, revolution, etc. To claim any one event was the worst event other takes a lot of chutzpah, don't you think?

I don't align myself with WP. I am opposed to all Identity politics. They are just a form of Marxist ideology where you substitute your group for the proletariat and everyone else as the bourgeois. I know far too many white people to be fooled by any claims of superiority. I side with Evola who tends to decry petty biological racism. If all you can attack someone for is their race, then you really pathetic, imo. I am pretty much opposed to populism in general for the same reasons I oppose Identity politics.

I have a wide variety of topics, ranging from Rocky Horror Picture Show trivia to interpretations of Nietzschean concepts such as "The Spirit of Gravity" and "The Eternal Reoccurrence." I tend to focus these days on learning Japanese Culture and continuing my studies in Primordial Tradition and Thelema.

We are, by biological predisposition, pack animals. We form tribes. The question is whether we form herds or packs. The pack gathers as needed. We also have the ability, perhaps for the first time, to create our tribes via something other than blood relations and geography -- not that I am disparaging either of these, they are powerful -- however, I have a tribe of people spread all over the world, including friends in San Francisco, Texas, New York, New Zealand. Actually, I belong to multiple "tribes" scattered around the world. I could couch surf Europe if I didn't have children. The same with Australia, Russia, Japan, Latin America, etc.

"The Idea and only the Idea can be the true Fatherland for them. Not the fact that they are of the same nationality, that they speak the same language, and that they are of the same blood, but the fact that they belong to the same idea, should be the deciding factor that unites or divides them." - Evola

So, what is your MBTI? It's also not simple leering, but it is hard to describe.

Nothing published fiction wise. A couple articles have appeared in various occult journals, but I am embarrassed with most of those now.

I don't really have a favorite book or author. Fiction-wise, I tend to read Sci-Fi/Fantasy, pure brain candy. Non-fiction tends to be Occultism, Philosophy and (now) Japanese culture. I just finished "The Outer Gate" which is a collection of poetry by Nora May French. She killed herself at 26, but still put out some fantastic poetry and was integral to the poetry/prose circles in California at the turn of the 1900's. Definitely recommended.

My children are 14, 12, 10 & 8. The 14 year old is living with their mother. As to why I am doing it alone, the first reason is that my ex-wife was "tired" of being a wife & mother. I will avoid the whole psychological profile thing. As for why I am still single, I don't go out a lot and women tend to freak out when they realize how may children I have (I've noticed women starting with a smile when they saw me pushing a stroller, then their eyes widen as they count the rest walking behind me). If I feel something is invasive, I'll let you know, I find hiding things to be too much work, so unless I am obligated to keep something secret I don't really care.

It's an error to speak of the White Nationalists, and especially White people, as some homogeneous block. The reality is that they are splintered into little groups, some holding incompatible viewpoints. Even Nazism (which is way different than WN, despite symbol overlap) is divided into Nazi's, Strasserites and Esoteric Hitlerists. I could go on, but it is normally boring to others and people begin to thing I am one of them.

The WN who holds Asians superior probably holds to the idea that West for White, East for Asians. By many criteria, Asians are superior. They tend to have an IQ one standard deviation higher than Whites, their culture has only been subjected to Western Materialism for about 60 years & they tend to hold knowledge in higher esteem than Americans.

I am an INTJ according to the Web versions of the test.

There are fetishists in the area. I really don't know how vibrant the community is as I have no interest in being the leering guy who is charged massive entrance fees to gross out everyone from the corner of the dance floor ;)

I want to write Sci-Fi & Fantasy. NorWesCon is geared for that, and I attend the writing panels. I just have time-management/procrastination issues. Random hook-ups are not really my thing anymore, which has turned at well, I know people who picked up incurable things via random hook-ups at conventions. I don't really let loose all that often I guess. I read, listen to music and watch movies. Occasionally I go to a club or party and drink.

Yep, I'm excited about it and I will be dragging my brother with me since I just don't want to drive the whole way by myself. Yeah, I was so relieved when we were able to split without either of us getting hurt. Ahaha, that's so very true ^^, and here I thought that things would be different here and that wouldn't happen with me...now I know better, lol. ^_^
So what have you been up to lately?
nexist418 Apr 6, 2010 11:38 PM
I have four children. When the oldest child turned 14 he just started the mindless rebellion thing, so I sent him to live with his mother. It seems to have mellowed him out, but we will see when the report card makes its way home. I've been raising them all by myself for the past 7 years.

If you are above average competence or knowledge, you are entitled to a bit of arrogance. If you are really arrogant, then you must be more knowledgeable than I on the topic :D

Most people exhibit that behavior in most places. Then again, I distrust people who to readily act as "bestest Friends Forever." In the past, I was less stable and those people tended to be the ones trying to get into a position to rip you off.

I am pretty much listening to music all of the time. Most of what I listen to now is Neofolk and Death Industrial (and their sub genres). I've met many gay nazis, but other than that, I really don't see much of that. Then again I have a rather restricted set of people I bother to associate with. I find most interactions ultimately unrewarding and taxing, so I tend to limit my exposure to others. Most of my friends have been my friends for years, or they were introduced to me by people I have known for years.

I've not been to a Torture Garden Party. It looks like they are in London and I have not been there. Also, my ex wasn't into that sort of thing, so for all but the first couple years of the club's existence, I was not with someone who was interested in that sort of thing. My own interest actually waxes and wanes. To many fetishists are a bit vapid and trying in their own right.

I was amused that Protestant/Catholic Easter, Orthodox Easter and Japan's "Festival of the Steel Phallus" (Kanamara Matsuri) all occurred at the same time. Hail the Re-Erection of the Lord!

NorWesCon was great. One workshop allowed me to crank out the backgrounds for three characters of a new story based on a dream I had recently. I am waiting for a friend to send me some recordings of two other lectures I was unable to attend due to the rooms being packed. There were also a lot of attractive women in skimpy clothing and rumor has it that there were several room parties serving mead, "purple stuff" (which I "hear" was vodka and grape kool aid) and for the health conscious, there was a concoction of pineapple juice, orange juice and vodka. Since I am a mature and responsible adult I had nothing to do with any of these....

So far all three who live with me want to go. They were looking at the hiragana but they aren't that serious yet. They are exposed via anime and music right now.

I understand tribalism, I just can't stand people who have nothing to back up their arrogance. When someone demands your attention but are unable to hold I get annoyed.

I am not sure what you mean by "Seattle Freeze." Seattle, Portland and Eugene are either "progressive" or somewhat "cosmopolitan." I am unaware of any serious levels of Racism, Homophobia or the like. There are hicks in the rest of the states, but they tend to stay there and we tend to stay in the cities. :D

Then again, I don't really bother with going to things which do not interest me -- and it seems that there aren't to many non-whites interested in Goth/Industrial/Experimental/Neofolk music or Occult events. There are Asians at the Anime etc events, but their issues seem to be more of the type any attractive woman has around men who's last exposure to female genitalia was when they were born.

Happy Kanamara Matsuri by the way.

I just returned from NORWESCON, so the above may have been disjointed.

Heh, yeah ^//^. Well, we were able to see each other long enough to sit down and talk. Unfortunately we found that we, at least at this point in time, were better friends than lovers. But I was happy that we were able to split as good friends and that no one really got hurt.

Hahaha, thanks, I am so excited! This will be my first convention outside the state. I've never actually traveled out of state on my own before, it's pretty exciting ^_^.
nexist418 Mar 27, 2010 9:21 AM
I'll take those children that want to go. I want to live there so I can get a more accurate impression of the Japanese culture that fascinates me so much.

I have a wide variety of interests. I moved to Portland in 1987. I spent two years in Seattle, two years in Eugene and a year in Kuwait. I like Seattle, but the Goth scene there makes other place's goths seem modest and unassuming.
nexist418 Mar 23, 2010 9:47 AM
It's primary use is to make me happy. I plan on moving to Japan, perhaps attached to a fed job, perhaps as a teacher. I want to study Shinto in context of the Primordial Tradition.

Other than Anime, Manga & Dorama, I have a membership at the Japanese Garden here in Portland and go all the time. I am getting a fairly extensive collection of related books. I would also like to start going to the Zen temple. I do have some patterns and a sewing machine, but talent and time are conspiring against me for making Japanese clothing. I haven't been to an Anime convention yet. The local one tends to fall around my mother's birthday & familial obligation interfere.

Oh, I am pursuing an Japanese Studies degree.

I love dead can dance, I have seen them perform live twice now. Fantastic experience.
Juri21 Mar 11, 2010 11:15 PM
Hey! You're most welcome ^_^. Meh, I've been going through the motions more like. I just got over a bad cold and I've hit a rough spot with school and with my new girlfriend >_<. But I'm sure things will work out someway or another, I'm determined not to get stressed at this point ^^.
Other than that thing have been going well and I'm actually planning a trip for the end of may. I'm going to a convention in NC in which Chiho Saito (mangaka for Utena) will be there!!
