Ok, here is the thing.
You have an harem with:
-Donkan male lead, magime, straightforward.
Waifus:
-Kitoge, lead waifu, violent cute tsundere.
-Kosaki, wafu Bijin hasukashi.
-Tsugumi, an unrealistic mary sue.
-Marika, a schemy yandere that shows later on.
...
-Maiko, Shuu, techincally a sidekick really, special mention because this one managed to be entertaining at times.
Nothing strange here. The premise is kind of creative thou, family circumstances forces the two leads into a fake relationship, this gives the show it's name. it's really a flavor kind of thing and the series evolves as expected.
So why to see this stuff in 2024 then? well it's because the Shaft magic tricks. Shaft here performs for what probably will be remember. Long history short, this series is about classic Shaft stuff.
You should try this just to see if Shaft manages charm you in any way. Else drop it.
The source material is a real mess, and it's not worth for your time.
Cheers!

It's such powerful punch to pass trough the ep 12 and hit next and.. wow! surprisingly there is nothing more there... that was the END?
It's totally truncated, knowing that probably was an ongoing source at the moment, and difficult to work with, i mean, it's shonen jump, but... that was really bad.
I don't know what to do with this score honestly, because, the adaptation, what shaft did with this, it was actually good, period.
It's a power shortage kind of ending.
Oh almost forgot about this, if you notice the oddity of Kosaki's imouto just spawning out of nothing into the show, it's because of
...
the rolling waifu release of the source material. That gives you an appropriate snapshot of.... you know...

Hi. Another one here that come in looking forward to see more Aria likes works.
Amachu is more a Yuri anime than a Iyashikei. Aria was more like a Iyashikei with light Yuri elements, more like fanservice here and there than anything else. In Aria male characters had an actual "face", so yes, this is a detail that sends a clear message.
Dynamically, if follows the lead girl, Futaba-chan personal narrative on how her partner Pikari leads her out of her social enclosement.
Diving element are somewhat scarce, it's not a diving anime, really, but the girls looks cute in the suits.
It's probably a 6.5 I
...
was looking forward for pure Iyashikei, and for that to happen, less strong emotional blasts and way more environmental focus slice is totally required.
I will leave a 7 here because I believe that Futaba's narrative has allegoric elements an peaks that are really good and well done.

At last I made myself to view this thing that has been pilling dust in my drive for the last 10 years...
Well dear readers, this is the thing:
If you truncate this to the first 12 episodes, it's easily an 8/10.
Really nice production values,
An unique style blending western with japanese anime,
Almost best robot animations ever,
Problem is, it rolls down hill, and splashes hard, real HARD.
...
It's a problem with this particular epoch, another matrix wannabe maybe.
You have all this effort to make the robot look like mechanic, real effort you know? but then they decide to go for a"magical" demonic robot, evangelion like, no no no no no, that's not a good thing....
It's painful to see all that hard work well done going to the tube because of appalling direction.

Well Kanojo, Okarishimasu... it's based on a relatively "new" fad in Japan, the possibility to rent a girl for a date.
The male lead is an idiot who got a girlfriend by "accident": basically she picked him up out of boredom.
The series starts after she dumps him. He went into a desperation rampage: he rents a girl, and then presents her to the whole family as his fiancee. To get things worse, she ends up been his partner at the campus, and even neighbors. Effectively creating a mess.
The world around em believes that they are actually a couple, and it's in the best interest for both
...
to keep it that way.
This is how the series goes.
----
Great idea for a situational comedy, somewhat clunky executed. Weakyy side characters.
Except for the ex and the female lead, the rest of the girls in the portrait are more o less fillers (if you see this stuff probably you want this anyways, so it's ok). Very cute artwork here.
If you pick this stuff you probably know beforehand what is this all about, and wont disappoint you in that respect. It's fun to watch.
------
So the important stuff here... the girls:
-Chizuru: absolutely the best girl, tsundere-like.
-Ruka: mind boggling fanservice, hardcore yandere.
-Mami: very important character, 1st party "clueless until the very end".
-Sumy: cute but neh... no enough from her right?

Well... Welcome to: Shinji gets a band anime.
And just as sorta in Evangelion, when all it comes to "-Shinji just RIDE the fucking Robot!" here all comes to "-Yukio just RIDE The fucking Maho!" thing over and over and all over again...
And this is all 'bout boys, just an screwed romantic tension based anime which is music themed backgrounded.
I dont believe it has even been delivered well in this respect, this love tention is always sustained with lack of dialogue and interaction, and thus overall it feels as a non-connected escenes one after another, sometimes rushed furiously, sometimes feels as characters that have
...
nothing to do.
And well, if are not so convinced and you already saw this and, amazingly, if you think about it, this part is so well handed as the part which suggest that a preposterous sore loser can master music, composition, vocals, and guitar, in two years, not gonna happend. Anything else?
The art is fine shit but the animation suffers a serious unsteadiness, crumpling over the end as the rest of the show.
I do believe it had a strong start and... all went to shit at some point.
Lacking in writing and delivery, but, considering all that is out there nowadays, i do believe overall it performs average.
If you liked i strongly recommend you Deardrops visual novel, same shit, better in every respect.

Well R2 is another trainwreck plot deviced over the dead of a 'mayor' character.
As well en R1, R2 worwide scale events, politics, military-ops, are not much more than a very laconic set-up that stand for the sake of a few characters to interact with each other.
All of that in pompous military and aristocratic costumes.
The models are pretty/beatifull/hot, as one should spect from clamp, and has characters that 'pull the tirck' in a good way.
i should recognize that even tough i personally enjoy this anime and acept that has value in the story setting and characters... well, all of it is packed and
...
cramped so much to really be decent in any aspect of it.
Pretty dramatic and intense in nature, R2 is somewhat fun to watch. Specially if you enjoy 'service time' host by clamp, (bless to them), which is present all along, but has not many replay value tough.

*SPOILER*
Is so disgusting... it MUST be some massive trolling behind ... there is not other way to explain this.
They picked up the most generic piece of shit VN in the market, and just for fun they followed the worst end route possible putting throughout the run all nonsense irrational choices of the 'plot'.
I'm going to sorry for saying this, but I liked the drawing of facial expressions, its like the only thing i have to justify to have seen the entire show aside of this pure morbid kink of me. For a low budget production it was no so bad.
---
The idea is more or less:
...
"HEYY LOOK we have a bunch of bubs that you already had been seen thousands of times but with more idiotic and irrational nonsense behavior than ever before.
But dont worry, by the half of series the main char -most disgusting piece of shit of character i have ever seen- out of the blue already fucked more than a half of the school, Why? How(??) donou! and we have staged some nasty butchery for dessert.
The theme of the show is 'cheating', strange enough, all fem characters cheated by shows no-response in ANY form for being cheated, fucking arround is like nothing happens. After twelve episodes all detonates like a firework or nuke fashion.
----
Some peers stated wittly that 'that end' would report some kind of compensation for the run, in a fashion like: YES at last kill'em all with FIRE please. Sorry kiddas I dont take that boat, it come to late (ten episodes late), and it was obnoxious OBVIOUS all along.
But i recognize that at some level it worked, let aside that you probably already know far from before the end that was comming , if you smoked the protagonist TWELVE epidodes, so yes, this end is more or less the only satisfaction that you are going to recibe from this show.
What is not so clear is if this satisfaction comes from the little trash recieving what it deserves -at last-, but most probably for reaching the end of the torment that this show represents, that at least, is going to give you some brownie points for an all around anime viewer. Maybe both.
I dont see any reason for the existance of this show.

The movie is mediocre.
On the side of the plot, there is no previous set up for the events, leaving the background like a big black hole gap behind. Plus, the antagonist's motivations are so stupid that is a pitiful to see: 'we must save thi planet of the human vermins and pollution so let's dump a massive amount of spacial trash and nukes to make then leave'. True is that even in aeug times the objetive was pull out humans... right into space, but it was a ecologist organization too, protecting earth by destroying it is well... bullshit.
The characterization is a real piece of fiasco.
...
No more than a collection of 'already seen characters' 'The kid that was brought with the sole purpose of staging something REALLY stupid' 'the cyborg new type idiot ludicrous woman' and so on, there is no a single bit of intelligence nor endearing or originality in the original cast.
Not satisfied with a mediocre original cast, plus, the Char's characterization is preposterous, representing an involution in all respects. Not only in his motivations but personality too, demised to not much more than an upstart brat playing around with heavy weaponry. Leaving us with a pale reflex of old good times, when a mature epic veteran in 80's fashioned sunglasses still was there. At least Amuro was really fine and matched quite well.
In the trash box we can pick up some edible rice grains in the form of some nasty good pieces of battle stage music/sounds. Not really impressive though (well, may be by the time). Included with a really joyfull pace rhythm and the enjoy of something gundam like are the only reasons for save the score of total fall off the cliff.
