Kimi no na wa is a great exemple of what a good anime movie should be. The visual art is well done and the SFX are outstanding. One thing I liked a bit less is the soundtrack. Sometimes, the ST was not representing what was happening on screen. Also, I found it a tad boring, meaning that it looked too simple at times. However, most of it was okay to excellent. The anime was good, even though I don't plan to watch the series 'No Game No Life' that is associated with the movie yet. One of the major problems however is the lack of backstory. I know there is a reference in the beginning, but that is because my friend told me about it (shoutout to Hemastram by the way). Also, everything happens so fast. Therefore, it can be confusing at times but everything settles down just fine as the movie goes on. Only flaw is the childish characteristics that’s are ALL OVER the entire anime. The music aspect is well represented (I am a classical musician myself), and the romance between the characters drags so much attention, I watched the entire thing in one night, from 3 to 8AM. I couldn’t leave without seeing what was about to happen next. Arima Kousei is not a super hero and everyone can relate to him, especially musicians.
