First of all let's be honest the characters are pretty attractive, but who says that is only for the female audience is wrong, they are attractive obviously because it's a swimming anime, and seriously if people think it's full of fan-service(for females) then good because we girls also deserve some, anime is full of "panty shots" and fan service for boys,we girls deserve some too. I find the anime to be extremely funny and well done in terms of animation, in the end it's not about fan service or the fact that he anime looks slightly "shounen-ai", it's about childhood friends who want to swim

In my opinion Death Note was truly a masterpiece, it was so well made and always a step ahead, the watcher could never predict what was about to happen. What i liked the most was the main character not being the stereotypical protagonist,you can't say he was the bad guy either,if you agree with his ideologies then certainly he isn't "evil", then again he showed some traits of a psychologically disturbed person, later on the final episodes, he was obsessed with creating this "Utopia", and him being the new God.
