Rookies follows the very cliche sports manga, and consists of a cast of delinquent tropes, and cliche moments with the first teacher to ever show love tho these students. The story is an 8, I honestly love it, and appreciate the humor and the pacing of it. Like I said in the beginning though, its full of sports cliches that make the story really reflective of other sports mangas, but overall an enjoyment.

the characters are a 7, I wish he did more with some of the kids. Every arc kind of focused on one of the team members, but after their arc they stopped being relevant, until they needed to make a clinch play at some point. Just gets cheesy, and the coolest characters get overshadowed by the other characters.
Ending gets a 9, I love a sports ending that isn’t neccessarily realistic. I like a feel good ending, and out of the sports manga I have read, I would say the ending is really feel good.
Overall an 8, I understand I gave it a lot of 9’s, but the story just isn’t good enough to be considered great. Rookies is very good, and I recommend reading it before reading other sports series, as it might be easier to get into sports mangas through it. But as good as it is, the tropes and cliches just cement it as an 8.

Usogui will go down as the best manga series I have ever read. The art may start off old looking, kind of what youd expect from older mangas like ashita no joe, but it quickly elevates to a more modern but unique looking art style. I'd say that some of the later panels are some of the most well drawn panels in any manga Ive ever read. comparison to the story, character development and my enjoyment of the series, I had to give it a 9.
The mangaka is well versed in martial arts, and he really shows it in Usogui. Everything is more or less believable, he tries to rationalize a lot of the normal manga powerscaling, but I enjoyed it. The psychological games that the gamblers play, are unique. Some of them really are well thought out and smart. I think the manga hits its stride right at the fourth arc, and then it just doesn't slow down. And that's not saying that the first arcs arent incredible either, I think the first arc is really good at selling what the manga is supposed to be.
The character development is crazy. Madarame Baku is top 3 characters in any manga series, and I'll die on that hill. In my mind, Madarame is the archetype for the smart genius in any mind-game/psychological manga. He might be a trope, but the way he is written and the things he does throughout the series to manipulate certain people to do things later on in the series, is far thought out by the mangaka.
TLDR: Overall 10/10, art is insane just kind of weird at times, the fights are well drawn and well written, the story is well thought out and enjoyable to read.

Tough is the sequel to Tekken den Tough, which if you read it was okay but nothing more. Tough is more evolved than that.
Art-10
The art is realistic, gritty, and overall very good. I really enjoyed looking at the panels during fights and seeing how much the author must have researched in order to draw out some of these scenes. reading through you can see how the characters get caught and trapped in submission holds, how their bones break from taking serious blows, how their ligaments get stressed from certain actions. readers so I would recommend going into it expecting blood, bonesbreaking, bones sticking out, ligaments being torn, etc.
Story-7
The story is like any other martial arts mangas. Pretty basic, straight forward battle to battle writing. There is some parts where the main character is able to get out of something using a move that the reader had no knowledge about, which is a cop out to me. I wouldve preferred consistency, in that the main character is always hiding something from the reader, something that we had no idea was even in his aresenal. But other than that, the story is straightforward and is really easy to follow. There is some great plot twists that I found surprising and I foudn myself reading to the end quite fast becuase the pacing from each fight was really good.
Characters-8
The characters felt kind of weak, as I find with a lot of martial arts manga like this one. In the beginning the main character reminded me of a shounen. Talks about never giving up, and always wins at the end with some random trick, but as I read on I started actually liking the characters. They arent just muscle heads, there is actually really good character development (although I cant say I agree with a certain characters development throughout the story, felt like another cliche but I cant say without spoiling)
Overall-9
I really enjoyed reading this, I really cant recommend this enough especially if you read and liked Baki. It really is a great manga to read through fast, as there is not much dialogue needed to understand whats going on. And between fights the author does keep the readers entertained with different twists that surprised me.

To start off the review, I will talk about the best part; the art. Man, what incredible visuals that the artist was able to capture is incredible. In contrast to Beserks raw and gritty art style, Feng shen ji 2 was light and relaxing. A must read for the art style, the artist did an amazing job in producing the greatest panels in any manga I’ve read. few words can express how impressed I was at the smallest of details being drawn. 10/10 outstanding.

is full of plot armor like none other. I’ve never seen so many characters appear out of thin air in the time of need since reading Naruto. I mean, in the first 20 so chapters, the idea of Great Gods being the greatest of their respective area was destroyed. I mean, I understand Ah Gou was training to get stronger, but it just seemed like the gods who seemed like they were at the top in Shen 1, were too easily beaten in the beginning of the manhua. The story isnt bad, but it isnt amazing. I give it a 7, it was able to keep me entertained and it was original. It just seemed too linear.
. huge spoiler alert sorry I just really hate the characters and their actions during this story. Let me start off with saying that I absolutely cant stand any character in this manhua other than a select few. Most of the characters are irredeemably bad, with Ah Gou being the worst. Talk about a main character so spoiled and so rotten, even trying to run away during the fight with Tian abandoning everyone. Even in Feng Shen Ji 1 he was just awful. He fightis for himself, he has no pride, and he is super annoying. All the bad guys are the same, “humans are monkeys, know your place” and then when they get beat “oh my god, to die to a human is really bad. but maybe I was wrong to think of them as just slaves.” No bad guy really impressed me, other than Tian. Tian being the saving grace of the story, they did really well on displaying a real bad guy with a real motive and some very good fights and ending. Tian, Uncle Zi Yu, and Nitian being the three characters that I could actually like, with all the others either being useless or annoying, or both. I truly tried to like the characters, they are just a bunch of unlikeable personalities for me. so characters get a 5, with the only saving grace being Zi Yu, Tian, and Nitian but they did save it enough to merit a 5/10 in character category.
Overall: the story was pretty linear, but was enjoyable and kept me entertained with an ending that I kind of saw happening, but not to that scale of what happened, paired with the outstanding art style makes it an easy read. The only part that I absolutely cant stand is the characters, but I feel like the art alone makes up for the many unlikeable characters. overall an 8/10 for me
