I really enjoyed this. Visually, it was one of the most stunning anime I have ever watched: both the setting and the character designs were amazing. I mean there are bishonen and then there are BISHONEN: this was the latter. Wow: I've never seen so many ravishing male faces in one place. And the fact that they're mostly priests is just lunatic.
The music was also a stand-out: lovely and evocative.
I also thought the characterization was great: the characters were not particularly original, but they were effective. Teito could have been really annoying, but ultimately

An odd story that consistently went in directions I would never have predicted. It's marketed as a romance and yet the opening credits give you a good picture of where the series' real focus is: on the relationship between the two sisters, their future "sister-in-law," who is all of nine years old, and their various friends.
Given the ratio of females (lots) to male (one), it almost looks like a harem show, but that could not be further from the spirit of the show. Hakuya is about as far as possible from other shoujo leads: basically he's not a dick or a flirt or ... |
