Leaving aside roriconfan's tendency to stalk strange creatures like me, the answer to your question is pretty simple - none of it made any sense whatsoever, and here's why:
1. Brittania rules Japan - now given that R2 involves some kind of Pan-Asian alliance, I have to wonder how Brittania managed to get its mitts on the land of the rising sun. Was China busy playing table tennis?
2. Russia - It's been tried several times throughout history, and each time the conclusion is this - do not launch an overland attack against Russia.
3. The Brittanian royal family is completely dysfunctional, which makes one wonder how they managed to find the time for conquering other nations.
4. The so called "genius" Lelouch isn't really all that good at chess. The game teaches one to think ahead and plan for eventualities, but Lelouch, for some reason, keeps getting surprised by events and thus has to think on the spot. That's just someone who's reasonably good at thinking on their feet (although I should point out that several of his "battle" plans had major holes that any tabletop wargamer would have immediately exploited), not a master strategist.
5. Memory loss is something to be forgotten. Lelouch with amnesia, and for some reason he's forgotten about what happened to his mother and his sister, and the reason why he burned with rage and vengeance. Emotions that strong will leave a scar so indelible that no amount of erasure will remove it from a person.
Or did Charles wipe his whole memory allthe way back to when he was born, as that would solve the problem?
Nope. He did nothing of the sort.
6. Far too many things happening for the sake of something happening. The plot is diabolically bad, and there are very few moments in either series where the narrative makes sense, follows a logical progression, or acually works!.
The writers for both series should be forced to talk to the people they know on a really hot day, in public, while wearing freshly caught fish (the chief culprits can have crabs down their pants too).
Roriconfan's review is decent enough, but I can't say that anyone's reviews speak for me as I have been known to disagree with people.
