Good Higurashi Rei review you rated season 1 and Rei 9/10 same as me and I also put Kai lower I think season 1 > Rei > Kai > Kira right?

Hey, I saw your review about Higurashi Kai. While I agree that they show kinda took a twist from the paranoia feeling, frankly I think that was a good choice. I loved season one for setting up that feeling of "oh shit, anybody could die at any time, what the hell is going on in this village?". But season one did that to set up questions and to be more focused on the mystery and death, it prepares you for season 2. Season 2's switch to answering the questions rather than constantly making them was what I loved about it. It still gave you tons of different theories to work with, but it let you try and figure it as if you were playing the games. I also love how season 2 had less of a paranoia feeling and more of a "we have to do whatever we can to stop this and reach a happy end". Rika's perspective allowed this and it also makes sense for her to not feel much paranoia as she's so desensitized to the death and has little fear which is especially seen in the end of arc before the last arc when Rika's about to... you know... yeah. I love that the seasons have there own roles and that the roles are shown through different perspectives, yet the seasons also feel similar and you're still really attached to the characters.

When all was said and done, I could do nothing but sigh. The ending may have been satisfying, but I still wanted more. Despite my distaste for graphic violence and horror, I actually wished that it were there from the beginning. That, my friends, is saying something.

Well said.

Let me just say that I agree 100% with your review on 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai'. Just like you, I wasn't really into the horror genre until I watched the great 1st season of Higurashi (first two arcs with Keiichi as main character was scary as hell!). But 2nd season was disappointing, so I'm glad to see somone else thinking just the same:)

Yup.
How long have you been into Anime?
Kitycatgirl Oct 30, 2008 11:31 PM
WOW. You're the first person to have an above 75% compatibility with me, and by the looks of it you're really just here to have a way to record the shows you've seen, like me >.<

Hey, just saw your comment.
I've been busy recently (got a full time job now) and haven't had time for much anime. Nadesico's on hold for the moment, but I'll probably pick it up again when I go back to school this fall, if not sooner.
UserZero May 10, 2008 8:44 PM
Thanks for writing that Nadesico review. I am currently about to try out the series and had been wondering what to expect. It sounds like your position going into the series was relatively the same as mine, having had a somewhat limited exposure to mecha. I'm not a big fan of the genre in general, but this show looks worth a try.
