Have you ever wondered how Natsume Yuujinchou would be, if the monster were simply disgusting, rapey and only there for shock value, the story non-existent, the writing amateurish, the art bland, Natsume was a girl and you got a gratuitous and utterly pointless close-up of her ass a few times each episode? Well, wonder no more because if you're a fan of sheer garbage, Mieruko-chan is here to sort you out.

Imagine Asobi Asobase with a bigger cast, far less refined, a lot rougher, with, in my opinion, an inferior sense of humour. There are undoubtedly good moments in Joshikousei and it can get a smile here and there so while not nearly on the level of Asobi Asobase, it's still quite enjoyable. The biggest problem is that the "protagonists", Robo, Wota and Baka are by far the worst characters of the entire show (Robo in particular, she has no use whatsoever), while the other comic reliefs are a lot funnier, thankfully.

Natsume Yuujinchou is basically Mushishi only with more laughs, more happy endings and a somewhat less fatalistic view of life. Both are centred around creatures that almost only the protagonist can see although while there are good/evil Yokai in Natsume Yuujinchou the Mushi of Mushishi are neither evil nor good, they are simply lifeforms and do what they have to survive.
