Wolfsmund is not a story you'll see very often and thus is it definitely not a manga for everyone but if gore and cruelty is your cup of tea then this story is something for you.
story: 6.5
Wolfsmund definitely does not exceed in its storytelling nor is it what the manga is really about. But the existing story isn't so bad that it would a reason to not read it. The story goes as follows:
It's the mid 14th century, Switzerland. We follow a set of main characters who encounter a border settlement, Wolfsmund. Our main characters often don't have the papers to cross border en often
...
encounter what I would call the main antagonist of the story: Wolfram. These encounters often lead to the death of members of the main cast and not many survive an illegal pass of the border.
Wolfsmund is a story about the civil war and uprising and a sadist who enjoys the suffering of people.
art: 7.5
Woldfund doesn't have the most outstanding art but it does have its panels and often good art with gruesome detail makes the story fluent to read and good to follow.
Characters: 8.5
For such a story, which is considered a gorefest and mediocre in its storytelling it makes up for with its characters. for such a short story you're emotions certainly take a rollercoaster ride throughout the story. characters that make you fume with rage, or make you tear up and have pity for.
enjoyment: 8.5
I really enjoyed this series and it was a fresh ride for me after quite some more, mediocre manga.
overall: 7.8
