hey I'm good thanks, yourself? :3

I'm watching ghost Hunt at the moment. I've seen it before but definitely worth watching lol what about you? what are you watching at the moment?
autumnstarshine Apr 19, 2011 10:15 PM
haha not that close to sydney, and I lose reception even when I go into a national park that is actually inside sydney (a picnic area that's in a valley thing)... I have a LG phone, it's quite nice, touchscreen etc (was one of the ones I could get free on my contract). I don't know though, I just find I have to charge it every 2 or 3 days... I don't even use it that much...

lol I know, it could massively backfire - I've started work now so hopefully it'll be okay...

Yes, have a fantastic time on camp! Safe trip! Good luck putting up your tent :P - and yes, if you don't have reception, happy easter :D
autumnstarshine Apr 19, 2011 7:15 PM
haha I very much doubt you'll have reception inside a forest in a national park (and more than that, presumably you'll have no way to charge your phone? Mine definitely wouldn't last past friday, if I was using it) - but if you do, I do indeed always check my emails, so let me know how you're going! :D (And I could try texting... we'll see...)

oh wow, monday afternoon - you're away for a long time!

hahaha most of my friends would actually kill me if I put on anime :P - I've never seen west wing, but it sounds like it'll be interesting...

hmm it's sad when your family gets too old for that kind of thing - I'm lucky that I have this one cousin, on the other side of my family me and my brother are the youngest (no babies yet though...).

Work is going... hmm.... I have a vague plan, just have to read some of the cases and start writing. This one's a problem question, so it doesn't really involve so much independent thought (luckily). My friend said she started at 11 yesterday and finished at 1am, so my thought is if I start soonish I should be finished just after 2... not too bad :D

If you're leaving at 6, won't it be dark when you get there? Setting up a tent in the dark doesn't sound particularly easy... have fun with that :P
autumnstarshine Apr 19, 2011 8:08 AM
hmm the crash site doesn't sound that bad, if you've got other people to hang around with at least... haha I'd never heard of nerf guns, but having just had a look at wikipedia they look fun! I'm sure you'll have a great time :D

ha congrats on your pokies win! I have never played, but I suspect I would like it (that's why I have never played - I'm the sort of person who would become addicted to such things... that's why I haven't gone to the casino as well, I bet I'd like it....)

It will indeed be weird not to be writing to you! When do you get back? Once my project is over, I'll have a nice relaxing weekend really - going to a pub trivia night with my uncle and aunt etc, then friday having friends over for a marathon of a tv show (currently there is an ongoing argument about whether to watch west wing or midsomer murders), then various family things on sat and sunday for easter (easter egg hunt for my 8 year old cousin etc). It should be a good weekend all in all :D

I'm off to bed - good night! Hope all your packing is done :D - what time do you leave tomorrow?
autumnstarshine Apr 19, 2011 3:52 AM
ewww 6!! It's a horror camp! :P Though I guess there isn't the computer around to keep you up late, so you'll probably be getting to bed a bit earlier than normal...

So you said you had a better idea of what activities you were running right? What sort of things will you be doing?

haha sorry, your plan is indeed perfectly reasonable, I just found it funny that you were already planning it :P

ah that's why I wanted a new wallet too, mine was all stretched from my tendency to take receipts and just put them in my wallet... also the edges were going pink for some strange reason (considering the wallet itself is blue...).

Did you have soccer practice tonight? How was it?
I've just come back from netball, where we lost 30:9 hahaha - I think I played relatively well, but the shooter was the type that just aims at the goal and it goes in, so once she got it there wasn't much I could do... ah well, it was fun nonetheless :D
autumnstarshine Apr 18, 2011 11:53 PM
haha yup due thursday... It'll get done... eventually...

And I'm sure you'll see my wallet sometime :P - I used my last wallet for four years, so this one is bound to be around for a while...

Good to hear your work has gotten more interesting! Though bla about having to get up early - but you have next week to look forwards to for catching up all your sleep! And I'm sure you'll have fun this weekend - lol at your possible plan to read in your tent!

What did you end up doing, work or nap?
autumnstarshine Apr 18, 2011 10:20 PM
I just bought a new wallet! Ah! I love it so much! It's green, and made of eel skin (which sounds weird, but it's really soft!). Was so excited that I transferred all the stuff from my old wallet on the train :D
And I may not have done that much of my assignment yet *shifty eyes*

Wow America! That would be amazing!!
And fair enough, study is sounding like a way better option than work...

How's your day going? Is this your last day of work before holidays, or do you go to work before camp tomorrow?
autumnstarshine Apr 18, 2011 7:17 AM
ugh procrastinate more as it has turned out - I meant to do more study, but my brother has been distracting me...

hmm it seems pretty rude of them to keep ignoring you then... hope it all sorts itself out :D

Any city will probably be interesting in a different way to canberra though, since you'll be moving out, and if you're living in a group house or on campus then that's quite a different experience from currently. I haven't been to hobart though, although if it's smaller than canberra that is a bit worrying, since canberra appears to be tiny... I guess when you go down next month you can get a feel for how small it is, and whether it would get boring being there for so long...
A joint thing with another university though sounds pretty good! Where would the other university be likely to be?

Your other option is staying at work though right? Surely that would be the easiest option to take, considering it involves no moving/applying etc? So choosing the phD isn't exactly taking the easy way out...

Okay, the late night last night is starting to take effect, I'm going to go to bed - sleep well, and have a good day tomorrow! Hope your packing and CV updating is all going well :D
autumnstarshine Apr 18, 2011 4:49 AM
Okay after saying I'd start my assignment, I've spent the last several hours watching tv with my brother.... so addictive...

How separated are the areas you do your placements with? Aren't they all supposed to be within the one organisation? It seems a bit rude to ignore messages from their own grads... could you get HR to deal with it?

Yes hobart would be a big change! I mean I guess you've been on exchange, but the phD would be quite a bit longer I guess, and would you be moving to uni accomodation? Or moving into an apartment or sth? I can see that the whole thing would be quite daunting... fun though probably I guess, and if you want a change you'd definitely be getting it!
autumnstarshine Apr 18, 2011 12:50 AM
yay!!! Handed it in on time, and then ate hung out with my friend just doing nothing for hours, feeling so happy... I don't know whether it was good or not, but I guess I'll find out in a few weeks haha...

Your link doesn't work! And if I go back to the 'graduate program' page, it doesn't have anyone from 2011...

Now to start my assignment for thursday! (Which will probably be much harder to force myself to do since it's on income tax law.... ew).

How's your day going?
autumnstarshine Apr 17, 2011 10:14 AM
k finished for the moment - beddddd....

It's right on the word limit at the moment and I haven't done the footnotes, but at least I have something to hand in if the world falls apart or sth haha. I think I might need to do some editing tomorrow though, if I want it to do well.... *sigh*.

Envious of your awesome day - curry!! *jealous* sleep!! *jealous*

ah well, hope you're sleeping well, and have a good day tomorrow (/later today) :D
autumnstarshine Apr 17, 2011 5:02 AM
hmmmm not sure - still a long way to go I think.... I've been writing for a few hours now, but still handwriting at the moment so I don't know how many words I have yet. I have another one and a half sections, plus the conclusion, that I want to do before I start typing, and then I'll find out how under/over I am :/

blaaaaaaa I don't want to be doing this :(

also reading through your previous post, do you mean the film how to train your dragon? I saw it at the cinema when it came out last year and it was pretty good! The dragon was so cute! Why do you ask?

How's your day been/going?
autumnstarshine Apr 16, 2011 3:41 AM
ha hello to you too :D
That's okay - too bad that you lost, but I'm sure you'll win soon!

oo running a base eh? What is a base? What sort of activities will the people on the camp be doing?

haha yes, I'd agree that assignments can be time consuming right now - I spent four hours today reading a approx. 800 paragraph long judgment (it's new so not published yet, but I'm willing to bet it'll be over 50 pages... in fact probably more since if it was 8 paragraphs a page (which seems like too many) it'd be 100 pages... bla).

hmmmm i may or may not have an extremely comfortable pair of doctor who pyjamas with daleks on and the word "exterminate!" repeated all over... they are by far my nerdiest though, all the rest are pretty normal.

My day (as you may have realised from the reading mentioned above) has been pretty damn boring. Took my cat to the vet to get her tube out though, and now she's looking much more normal - it's supposed to be completely healed in a few days :D. My friend bailed on clubbing, but it's realllllyyy wet here, so I'm quite glad. Plus I really should keep working on this...

hmm I don't know, whether I like clubbing depends how I feel - sometimes I feel like it, and sometimes really not. I don't go particularly often, and more often we just go to bars (because we can't be bothered to go anywhere you have to pay a cover charge hehe) - when we do go to a proper party at a club or sth though we get into it, dancing etc. Can be quite fun with the right people. After my party I went out with some of my best friends dancing, and was really good (especially because my best friend's bf doesn't like dancing, so he volunteered to sit down and mind all the bags, thus taking away one of the most annoying parts of clubbing :D). Do you like clubbing?

hmmmm I so want to! I really need to keep doing this for the moment though :( - I might come on in a bit when I get too bored to keep going...
autumnstarshine Apr 15, 2011 7:19 AM
yay tonight was fun! Nice italian dinner with plenty of wine, then a swiss-german film about the president of switzerland, that was quite interesting :D

oo yes your camp thing is coming up this week - do you have to do much to prepare? Are you going to be running activities or sth?
Hmm I don't know, exams are pretty awful too - and at least with assignments you feel like you're working towards something, instead of just shoving lots of facts into your head when you're not sure if they'll be in the paper...

Haha I should have! Next time you'll get a period reply :D

Hmm yes that is a large problem with going overseas... and yes, moving away would be quite different... hmm such tough choices! Hope you sort it all out!

Ergh I woke up early again too this morning - got woken up by what I thought was someone next door using a leafblower, from about 9 (when I had aimed to wake up at 11.30) - ended up giving up and coming downstairs to the computer at around 10.30, in my pyjamas (luckily not my nerdiest) to find a man walking around on the balcony outside and into the garden. He continued to work on the garden for about half an hour after I woke up, and then left, so that was strange. Mum has gone away, but didn't mention a gardener coming, so either she forgot or he just comes when he feels like it haha (and I do have a vague recollection of her saying the gardener was a bit funny that way...).

How has your day/evening been?
I don't have anything planned really either - got this gross assignment due monday, so that SHOULD be taking up my time haha - we'll see if it really does... There was some talk of going clubbing tomorrow night, but tonight my friend was saying she's quite tired so I'd say it won't happen.

[You're on holiday soon too - if you want cookies you'd have to come to sydney :P]
autumnstarshine Apr 15, 2011 12:35 AM
hey :D - sorry I haven't replied yet, got absorbed in a manga and now suddenly running late (I'm going to dinner and the german film festival :D) - I'll reply properly when I get home.
Hope you're having a good day!! :D
