(This is my first review, so be considerous)
Whenever I think about Arcana Famiglia, whenever I talk about Arcana Famiglia or whenever I see Arcana Famiglia on forums, there is only one thing I can think off to describe it.
Wasted potential.
This anime could have been great. Not just good, but great. The kind of great you'll always remember. But no. Arcana Famiglia is nothing but disappointment. It's not a bad anime, but it's far from even decent. Let's start off with the positives.
The music of the opening. Probably the best thing in the whole 12 episodes. It's catchy and rocky and everything. Even the opening
...
in itself is not that bad.
Then, let's talk about the first episode of the anime. Probably one of my favorite introduction ever of an anime. It shows us all the different characters and explains the tournament that's gonna take place later in the serie (waaaaaaay later), and all of this in a really cool mafia-like atmosphere.
Now, the characters. Yeah, they're great. Really great. I especially like Pace, Luca and Nova. They're all pretty likable, except Jolly who I love to hate (he's not a bad character, I just don't like him as a person). Though this character development also hurts the anime, but I'll talk about that in two or three paragraphs.
Finally, we have the art. While nothing really impressive, it does it's job, so I can't really count it as a low point.
Onto the negatives.
Remember when I talked about character development hurting the anime? Yeah, we're gonna talk about that. Let's get straight to the point, the story is nonexistent. No, really. It's not here. It's lost in space, just like my interest in One Piece. Actually, the story is existent. In the first episode and the last two or three if I remember correctly. The other episodes? Oh wait, sorry, they're too busy telling you of Libertà or Felecità's sooooooooo tragic backstory, or having some kind of mission for the organisation or something. It's like they made the first episode, then made episodes 2 to 10, and then remembered that there was an actual story behind all this.
But if only the last episode was a good episode, it would be ok, right? But no, even the ending is disappointing. I won't spoil it here and you may actually like it, and if you do, lucky you. But that's not my case.
When I started this anime, I thought it would be some kind of mafia style action anime, but all I got was a mess of uninteresting romance and sometimes some action happened and it was fun because finally something was happening since ten minutes. It's not the worse anime I've ever seen (not like I've seen that many), but oh boy is it not the best. Do I recommend it? In all honesty...no. The opening and characters may be great, but outside of that there's not much stuff hapening and Arcana Famiglia is just not so enjoyable.
