Story: 9
I was going to score it a little lower on account of the immense desire to wage war displaced by the orbital knights. However I changed my opinion on that because I can see where they come from and find that interesting to why they wish to battle. I don't think it was right of course but I like how corruption in the ranks of an already corrupt society blew up a massive war as they did. I love the contradiction in fighting ones own race as if they were separate when they are only a few centuries off separation less different than Earth's ... own individual countries. This anime took war to a different level. Mind you I dislike big monster battles or mech battles for the larger part but this anime did it for me. It wasn't about explosions but how to make a real war of it. If I were to pick at one thing it was the need to always have the main cast there, but that was kind of justified in them having the...big machine from Mars I can't spell and won't look up. I get that they didn't have to pilot it but get that they have experience with it. It's very opinionated but it's not enough to drop it any lower. I think the story was simply great altogether and loved it. The ending as well was something I just did not expect and adored.

The art was amazing. No question about it. It made everything so real even though obviously it wasn't. But I could delve into the world and experience what was happening. Everything was so fluid I could sit in awe of just how good the animation was.

Sound: 9
The music fitted each scene great and it did exactly what I like and flowed with the animation and atmosphere really well.

Character: 9
They were great. They felt 3-dimensional and I was really invested in what would happen to them. I found times where I was unsure and then they would surprise me with the best scene to follow. I amazed that I don't have a single problem with the characters. As I said there were times I was unsure but that was early on before they were as far developed. Which was done excellently. No gripe and not much else to say.

Come on it's awesome.

I enjoyed it to a degree but it had too many flaws. The story was pretty predictable and the villains were not interesting in the slightest. I preferred the one off villains more than the final one and even they weren't great. The show somehow thought that character development is get us to know them for 1 episode and then it's good to kill them off right away. This could have been done a lot better and in a way I like the whole thing where they all die and there are only a couple left with their scars. But that's not what this story ... needed. I'm even ok with Tatsumi dying. More so than most the others really because he was developed and with Mine dead I was ok with him dying. But they just forced it. I can't even remember what the guy up top was only that is was a greedy dumbass. He's a terrible villain and I understand how it's meant to reference things in real life (I hope otherwise it's worse), but he never interested me. He just ate and told a child King what to do. And by the way why did the kid go nuts again? I'm actually glad they are dead because they are a horrid duo with a good concept done wrong. Greed whispering into the ear of the powerful to do it's bidding. It's great. What this anime did...was not. The art was not bad I actually liked it so good on them for that and the sound was alright. I kinda enjoyed it even though it's objectively bad so it has that from me. Overall 5

I can't begin to explain the amazement that comes from the layout and pure perfection that is this movie. I was hesitant for so long worried it would leave me unsatisfied with the continuation of a seemingly concluded story. And yet somehow it did not just give itself relevance in the movie but made it so that things in the original story could not fully make sense without it's existence. Just like at the end in his actions with Kurisu, laying out the timeline to playout as it would normally with or without the change in time that existed with and not within itself (I ... am confusing myself in writing this). In the movie just the same did it show that for Okabe to ever exist he must first exist to erase himself and exist again. While never in time disappearing but at a certain point in time not having existed in the first place. I don't think anything could capture the beautiful hot mess that is the unbound chains that is time as those same chains pull you opposite from where they come from. God I want to rant about this forever because I just watched it but I feel like I'm just not going to stop and it's only gonna get worse. Alright down to the scores. I want to add that I do not hold a personal bias against this anime because despite the fact I am fond of the concept and various theories of time and time travel honestly I have grown tired of the horrible dealings with it in media. So this is just a show I like and I think did it right.

Story: 10
I think I have made it clear that I like the story. All throughout the movie I was unexpectedly hooked on it and surprised in how it played out. Even in the ways you know something will have to go for it to resolve it somehow still surprises you with what just doesn't seem conceivable. The icing on the cake for me was the easter egg that came from one of the last things said in the entire movie which however it may not seem so important makes me completely dumbfounded at the absolute depths of the story and just the sheer extremity at which things played out. I don't know how else to put it no matter how I think of it.

Art: 10
Just a beautiful art style. From the start I always loved the art style and it seemed very refreshing. And in this movie it looked truly excellent. Everything was distinct from each other and so focused. The lights and shadows were perfect. It just looked really clean.

Sound: 10
I'm not sure about everyone else. But I did not pay as much attention to this as I was so focused on the story. But I did try whenever I remembered. I went back and checked too. Each time I felt a very subtle atmosphere from it. Nothing was forced and I think the reason I had to check and genuinely pay attention if I could focus on it was it simply felt so very natural in how it was put in there. In fact I can say with confidence if anything was changed it just wouldn't sound right.

Character: 10
Come on, the characters in steins;gate are amazing. Always have been. It feels like this movie...No, actually I can say easily that this movie is the definition of character development. Kurisu had the best development I have ever seen in her and it was great. Okabe somehow got more developed and we got to see more into how he thought...yeah...somehow they didn't make it repetitive. It just works. It always has. Thinking back, the amount of mental screwing this show does I'm amazed it works so well but even in the movie they just did things so well. I like it. Sorry I can't analyse more.

I'm not even going to go into much detail on this you clearly know how much I enjoyed this if you read the rest. If you haven't read the rest and just read this part in hopes of seeing if you'll enjoy it enough for it to be worth watching. Watch the god damn movie, you will not regret it!

Overall: 10
Lets check over that again...Um...10 across the board...yep...yep...ok yeah that equals 10. It's the best anime movie I have ever watched that is not a standalone movie. Most people know why I say standalone if they have seen the top charts for the number 1 movie on MAL. But honestly. It was brilliant. I have a lot of ups and downs and will generally like something sure. But I'm embarrassed to say but definitely not regretting that after I watched this I went on facebook and ranted like crazy to my mate (didn't spoil I'm not evil). He is in the middle of watching it right now and it's 12:44am where we are at the moment because he hasn't seen me react in such a way before.

Hope this gave you all enough reason to watch this. If you haven't watched the anime and OVA first do so. And remember that alternate 23 and steins;gate 0 are a different timeline...yeah. I'm watching that next. Anyways good luck to you all and I hope this helped.
